There are loads of them flying around the light in my living room, I haven't seen one in ages but tonight the party's at my place.
I don't mind them to be honest but my sister would seriously freak out if she saw one, they do look a bit scary as a shadow on the wall!

Yuk, Yuk & double Yuk!
Aren't they vile. We've had a couple every night for the past few days. I suppose its the hot weather.
And it doesn't help that I'm married to someone who like the windows open all the time  Anyone would think its hot
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
My hubby and the kids have been dancing around the house. No they aren't having a disco they ALL can't stand daddy long legs. I'm not a fan myself but I can get near enough to them to splat them!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0

Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! You've just taken me back to my childhood. Next door neighbour had a son called steven who used to pick the legs off one by one.
I'm so glad my girls dont like touching creepy crawlie type thingies :eek:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
They're cute - my dog loves chasing them

I think, like moths, they're attracted by the lights. Try turning off any you don't need and close as many windows as you can, once the sun goes down (about 8.15 pm)Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

I was thinking that myself - I've had thousands of blinking daddy long legs flying in to my kitchen at night time. I usually just leave them to it and find them dead next morning as there's no water for them, failing that they've flew into the washing up, and the bubbles have gone for them. Found one dead on my tea towel the other morning, obviously looking to get a drink or something and the tea towel was the only thing that was cool and damp for them. Yeeeuch!!! My little boys hoover them up or sweep them up and shove them in the bin, or find a BIG spider that's hungry.
I've been considering one of those electric insect zappers, you can probably pick one at Maplin quite cheaply.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
I've noticed loads here too, but my doggies catch them.
Both the back door and the french doors in the dining room are always open in hot weather so all sorts fly in. I hate the big buzzy bluebottles more though - they drive me mad
Here I go again on my own....0 -
We've had a bit of an invasion of daddy long legs as well.
Fortunately I don't mind them, and they are giving my five year old hours of amusement catching them and putting them back into the garden to find their mummy and daddy!

Glad its not just me, i evicted 8 of them from various rooms in the house last night.
Maybe i should let them stay and charge rent.......0 -
Try to bear in mind that they are harmless and that the spiders will eat them. I mean ... they won't kill you, will they
