Bethbee, Katy is an OTT, overseas trained teacher, this means she can work in UK as a teacher using the qualifications needed in her home country, Katy has a 'Maths Degree' which took 16 weeks to obtain, she is teaching here on the strength of that. She can speak english but tends to lapse when under pressure. There are more tales of Katy on my blog, the link is on my profile.
Squiggly, I've been expecting our head to resign since one of his projects recently bit the dust. I don't think he'll be much missed, he's only in school 3 days a week max & we tend to call him Wally as in the 'Where's Wally' books as we always have trouble finding him.

Evening all
The allotment has been rotavated :j . Got soaking wet but had a lovely little robin following me about which made me feel really happy. It also gave me someone to talk to!
Am shattered, daren't stop or I might fall asleep. Had egg on toast for tea as too tired to cook. Plan to plant my onions and garlic tomorrow. My potatoes have also survived which is great and I have weeded around them.
JACKIE O hope all went well today, there is an end in sight.
Have a good evening all,

Hi Jayward
I'm not really sure what is happening about Katy getting another job, she has applied for a few, but doesn't seem to have gone for many interviews. We are advertising her job at the moment, but I don't know if she has applied, we need 2 IT teachers & they are very hard to find, so if we don't manage to fill her post she will be able to stay on by default.

Hi All
JackieO -great to here you've reached the end of the chemo. You are a great inspiration to all of us.
Hillstep - glad the Ofsted visit went ok - I'm still biting my nails waiting for the dreaded phonecall! Can't believe we'll escape much longer! Be nice to get to December (when I retire!) without another visit tho!
Course today, so home at a reasonable hour. Need to do some tidying and get WM on before I close my eyes as I sit here. ((HUGS)) to all who need one.Resolution:

Evening
What a couple of days I've had. Car had it's MOT yesterday - failed so went through twice and all the repairs. Paid the rent after calling the solicitor who was meant to get back to me two days ago as it was urgent. Paid the solicitor too. Good news is I'm getting the rent money back:j
Got paid by the Spanish job:T And I've applied for another job in Tenerife, so fingers crossed there.
Been religiously doing my daily clicks, and still doing some stuff for America - free of charge, but it helps. Had a couple of freebies through
Got a bit of shopping at Mr T - £40:eek: Stocked up on a few bits from the reduced counter. Also got petrol - £36:eek:  When's it going to stop?
Went to the theatre last night which was really good. Saw Shout with Su Pollard. Comp tickets too, which always makes the evening better:D
Anyway, hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

I cannot believe that the education authority accepted her "qualifications"0 -
I hate to tell you this Crafty, but there are hundreds of OTT's just like Katy working in the UK, I've seen other blogs about them. They are taken on after only a telephone inteview & them dropped in at the deep end.

Evening lovely people
well today has been my lucky day - first of all dd(22) asked for my bank details so she could put some money in my account - she has been living with me a while as there are problems with her housemates - I'm not even feeding her and my only extra expense is losing the single person discount on the council tax but she put £150 in. I don't think I really need the money so am going to put it aside for her for a deposit if she needs one. Then I had given the sister of the lady who runs the work lottery £30 as she has been off sick for a while and had not been able to collect the money - her sister gave me £10 back today as we had had a win so are having some free weeks. Then my colleagues gave me a £10 boots voucher for my birthday and it's payday - yay!
Had planned to go to the pub to watch the footie but dd(18) has dropped off dgs(3) for a sleepover so he's wathcing Curious George (AGAIN!) while I listen to the match and give dd(11) a bit of a commentary .... it's not going well for dd btw.
dd's school is a polling thingy tomorrow so we are off to the Wetlands in Barnes tomorrow with dgs and dd's friend - not been before so hope they'll like it.
Bikey's wheel seems to be holding up - lots of men came over to tell me how to do it but none of them offered to help with the mucky bits so i told them all to pee off in the end.
JackieO - hope the last chemo went well
Martyn - hope you're feeling a bit better now - are you up to your eyeballs in flour.
ooh ooh second half - byeeI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Hello all.
It's not been a bad day after all. The Witch has been looked at by the nice vet lady but she's, err, 9, yes 9  kg's overweight( the Witch that is, not the vet
) Even her brother is 3 kg's too heavy!! Guess who's out throught the forest for two hours a day starting tomorrow?
Tea was a huge plate of tomatoe-y pasta type thing which would have had mince in it but I only remembered it as I sat down to eatStill, it tasted good, it filled me up AND there's enough left for another day (or 4
)
Twink's hobnobs turned out, err, different  I think I made them too big and they all merged into one on the baking tray so now I have one BIG hobnob"They" tast great though so I'm not really bothered. The banana cake is sreiously lush mind you so at least I got something right today. I'm almost looking forward to w**k tomorrow to let everybody have a try of my hobnob slab
Finally, there is no way I'm going to spill the beans regarding the undies I got yesterday. All I will say is that they are very smooth on my skin and the little lace bows and pink butterflies are so delicately tastefulLBM: 12.2.08.Debt-free as of July '09 :j and determined not to go there, ever again :mad:DFW Nerd Club #902 Proud to have dealt with my debts.0
