I must admit though I am a slight snob when it comes to all the value stuff, don't get me wrong I HAPPILY buy loads of them and save buying them but I have noticed that the toilet cleaner is turned around in the bathroom so you can't see the blue value stripes, the toilet rolls have been taken out of the packet and the value washing machine freshner I bought has been put into a lenor bottle I was about to throw out, also the kids ketchup(Mr S 25p) has been put into an old heinz bottle but the kids did not comment so it could not have been bad:D
Also the value hand wash gets decantered into the carex bottle.
We are buying a house shortly and I have no right to be a snob as we have not got the money to be one but it is just because we haven't I don't want everyone else to know;)
I agree Victory. I bought myself a nice pump dispenser for the bathroom to decant my value bubble bath into. I also dispense it into my carex bottles. DD (2) is at the age where she wants to wash her hands every 5 minutes. At 20p for 1L, she can!!Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -

I delibrately put it in the empty heinz bottle and no one noticed - there would have been uproar I'm sure if I had left it in the asda bottle!!
Likewise I put value handwash in carex bottle but mainly because the carex one is small enough to sit on sink in toilet:rotfl:
Yes I do this too. Only thing with the ketchup is the ingredients. The "purest" regarding additives is Heinz and Lidls. I top up my Daddies with Asda Tesco or Iceland quite often.
Ive refilled my handwash using Asda value bubblebath, costing all of 20p for a litre! You can also use Asda value shower gel to refil other bottles if people are fussy. Its all of 9p a bottle(has a handy shower hook). I don't transfer this myself-they use it as it is. Im also buying Asdas value soap-15p for 3 bars. Its nice-unlike the Tesco one which while ok is definitely "cheap". I also refil my washingup bottle with the value stuff as everyone just seems to overuse the good stuff and for 13p it lasts about a month.
Regarding being a snob about the brand-well I was a little like it once but I dont now! I hold my head high and tell people straight that if they want to waste money posing by buying brand X for the label then more fool them! And if Im no longer good enough to rank as one of their friends or whatever-then they have a problem and its no loss to me. People say Im a bit of a rebel and outspoken but they know I am honest and guess what? Nobody says anything about it! (they wouldnt dare). Havent lost any friends over it. I boast about it instead!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

Fresh parsley plants were whoopsied at my Mr T.s tonight, 30p for a plant. Spooky!
My kitchen windowsill's looking very green now. Wasn't going to buy one but then thought about garlic bread and chicken kievs.......mmmm, (retreats to kitchen for cloth to wipe drool from the keyboard)Needs must when the devil vomits in your kettle..........0 -
Just back from mr T allegedly avoiding the football but really just checking for whoopsies.I thought there would be hoardes of BBQ stuff as its been so cold but nope.Still 2 large organic milks for £2.38 and I'll need to water them down as no one likes whole milk. Its funny how there's only a complaint about a funny taste in the milk if I leave a blue top on the milk but if I re use a green one its fine:rotfl: Updated my sig and i think I should be okay this month though with all this football its costing a fortune on beer!"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Been struggling to keep us this month, but I have now read all the posts and updated my sig. Just over £10 left for the rest of the month, but fingers crossed we should do it. Just cooking 1/2 a turkey joint that I bought for £2.99 in the local butcher. I bought both joints they had. Noticed the price of milk has gone up in Asda now.... Well done everyone on how you are doing so far:T0

That's only true if all the ingredients are in cups. As in the 5 cup fruit loaf (1cup oats, 1cup sugar, 1cup dried fruit, 1cup milk, 1cup SR flour Gas4 for about 1hr - more/less depending on cup size)
mandy_moo_1 there is a good conversion list here
1 1/2 cups flour is 210g
1 cup sugar 200g
1/3 cup is 75ml

I must admit-I dont really lke measuring in cups-I prefer either weighing it or guesstimating it.
I see your point tho-true for some recipes but not for all.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

I know you were that's why I had to disagree. Not all the ingredients are in cups in that recipe. A mug would work differently to a small coffeecup in relation with the 1tsp bicarb and the other ingredients IYSWIM

Evening everyone
Managed to keep away from the co-op today despite using their car park to nip into town for the bank!:D
Got plenty of meal stuff but desperately short of packed lunch fillers. Still only need a couple more days things then it's half term:j
Thought I was going to have to go to the local shop for some milk this evening then I remembered I HAD FROZEN SOME MILK FOR THE FIRST TIME! It's now on the draining board defrosting overnight ready for the morning. :j
Bought the Sun newspaper today for the Morrisons voucher thanks to someone posting it on here. Will try to remember to get it tomorrow too. We don't normally shop there as it's quite a way from here but can tie it in with a trip out in half term.
My day off from work tom and I'm going to blitz the house :mad:Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
