I would be chuffed to little mintballs if i got to target and the same thing happened to me ;) . We have been trying 6 years...gave myself a talking to in August :p and i have given myself until xmas to get as healthy as possible..hence the hm juices and getting my weight under control etc... I have been offered hormonal drugs but don't want to waste the NHS money...determined to give us the best fighting chance of a little bundle ..will probably get to target , fall pregnant and blow up like a balloon :rotfl:

You're doing all the right things. I really hope it works for you, my kids have completely changed my life and, in my opinion, they've made me a better person.

Little tip I read, apparently riding rollercoasters helps!
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j

Just off to Asda in a bit, where are the 4p curry sauces? What am I looking for? Thanks and which butter is the best to bake with? I just use whichever is cheapest...talking about cheapest Sainsburys had 3 for 2 on their budget tuna chunks in water, yuck:eek: opened the can and this pool of glug just sat there in the tin (normallly have John west but cutting back on everything, the ketchup from Mr S for 25p was fab for the kids they never commented, nor on the Aldi noodles ,usually batchelors, anyway....:D this yuck stuff was drained thoroughly to see if it would revive itself but it looked terrible so decided not to throw it away oh no, not now on the GC:D but to make tuna pasta bake with it tomorrow where it can't be seen in and to open the John West for me for the sandwich I was trying to make, waste not want not;)

Another thing, made pastry as you said angel made pasties with the shortcrust pastry but just got them out and they have all split, any reason? There is filling everywhere....Thanks

4 p curry sauce in the aisle with pasta, rice, sauces etc. It's just a smart price jar. nothing too fancy! In ours they hide it down the bottom shelves, under the sharwoods expensive stuff!

Sorry to hear that they went wrong. Did you brush them with milk before baking? Did you make a slit in them to let the steam out? What temp did you cook them at? Sorry for so many questions. I've just looked in one of my recipe books and it says to turn the heat down to gas4/180c after the first 10 mins. It also says put a bit of butter on top of the filling before sealing the pasty.

Keep trying I'm sure you can do it! :)

Has anyone used tesco value spread for baking? It says it isn't suitable but wanted to check first.
I use their butter me up spread for making cakes and flapjack and had no problems.

Hi folks, just a quick update as I haven't spent anything else on groceries recently. I have been using up cupboard and freezer stuff plus I have been using up the turkey fillets that DD brought for the BBQ - we've had 3 BBQs over the past week and hope to have loads more during summer. I bulk bought charcoal bricks last year, have enough left for about 30 BBQs I think. :D

Tesco Value Spread - I've had no problems baking with this if it's the plain white kilo cartons.

Edited in - just ran down and read the carton, as I didn't know you weren't meant to bake with it. OOPS! :rotfl:
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Thanks for the reply;) my MIL said gas mark 4 for 25/35 mins check on the pastry for colour, it was in about 30 mins and I checked by then the stuffing had well and truly come out of them and unfortunately they were superglued to the base of the pan:rolleyes:
yes I made a slit in them, gas mark 4,milk before baking with ones of those paster thingys:D I will try the butter as that is the only thing I did not do but having said either the kids and OH are being very graceful or they actually enjoyed the pasties because they are all gone and little one asked if he could have another one:D

I am going to try again( I ran the water until it was ice cold and only put 1tlbsp in as Delia said to do, add more if nec but it wasn't, the dough was coming clean off the sides, one thing I did not do was knife it:confused: which one online site said to do?)
I put it into a bag into the fridge and left it there overnight until I needed it today.
There are so many variations, Deliah says you can use the food processor but only for 1-2 mins and not when you add the water, others say you can do the lot in it, some say ice cold water and others say warm tepid water, some say all butter and others say lard and butter, I used all butter, room temperature,Deliah says no pastry is worth it's salt without 1/2 lard 1/2 butter, trial and error it will have to be:D
