Using 4 leeks and 5 or 6 tatos how much mascarpone do you think I would need?

I apologise in advance for being really unhelpful :o I would start by stirring in about a tablespoon, wait til it's all melted and mixed and see what it looked/tasted like! I very rarely follow recipes for soup (normally just chuck everything in and see what it ends up like!) so I'm more of a trial and error person, sorry! :)

When you buy fat for cooking you need to look at the fat content. It needs to be 65% fat minimum-same as any standard margarine

Well, updated signature to include the last shop (hopefully!) of the month (finishes on Thursday!)

Went on a whoopsie hunt in Asda and got...
    Shredded wheat £1.39 from £1.99
Vanilla Organics Yoghurt (OH's favourite!) 88p from £1.18
    Organic Butter x 4 83p from £1.27
    Cinnamon & Raisin Bagels x 2 89p from £1.27
    Hellmans Mayo x 2 64p from 98p

Have also bought some milk and 8p jelly and have a jar of 4p curry sauce. I figure if we don't like it we've only lost 4p!!
By the way, Alpen bars are down from £1.91 to £1 a box with about a year on the BBE date. Might have to stock up! :)

Ended up spending £18.57 instead of £24.49

As we're switching more and more of our shopping to T Value range, I've recently been using Value tinned tomatoes but we found that they tasted really acidic . Has anyone else noticed this, or did we just get a bad batch?

    Hi Frankerooney

I always add a pinch of sugar to anything with tomatoes in..it helps balance the acidity ... hope it helps

I always add a squirt of ketchup to anything I cook with tinned tomatoes in as I don't like adding sugar. I use the reduced sugar & salt ketchup. HTH

I have tried this one and the the Tesco value one too, i usally cook the chicken and chopped up onions in a pan with a little oil and curry powder, when cooked i added the sauce a few mushrooms, hand full of corriander and its really lovely with rice and a naan bread.
