Well I completely forgot about updating my gc this week as I have been so busy....
I thought it had all gone pear shaped when I did my shop on wednesday. Now I have done the math its not too much of a disaster ,I must be careful this week or I will fail!!!!
It must be something to do with all this sunshine but I do find it harder to control my spending....does anyone else have the same problem? With one more shop to go before the next pay day I am keeping my fingers crossed and my purse out of sight:rotfl:

I'm a week in, and bang on target!
I hadn't spent anything at all until yesterday, when I had to stock up on various items to enable me to make meals with what I already had. My spend so far also includes dishwasher salt (not usually out of the food budget, but there was nothing left in the household budget - and it was bloody expensive Finish, too, as that's all Morrisons had ) and some yellow stickered stuff including a pack of half price organic free range chicken legs.
Will need milk soon, am not expecting the bottle currently in the fridge to last beyond tomorrow - but don't need anything else for a few days.
Was quite annoyed the other day in a Central London branch of Tesco - it was half an hour before closing time, and they had some lovely meat in the yellow-sticker fridge - but there was only 1/3 off and the staff said they wouldn't be reduced any further :rolleyes:Operation Get in Shape

You can get dishwasher salt a lot cheaper by buying a sack of it in your local builders merchants or places like homebase/do-it-all/focus/B & Q.
If you have room to store it, it is worthwhile as its less than half the price kilo for kilo(or 1lb for 1lb)
Sunday was a no spend day as far as groceries go. Bought some seeds at the carboot sale for 20p per packet so hopefully OH will plant hem for my salads.
Put excess food from homebaking in freezer for next week-half of the herb bread muffins and one loaf of bran flakes cake.DD was pleased to find egg mayo in the frige for supper tonight-just wanted a quick snack and there it was. The trifle went so fast i didnt get any!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
FFM, what did you do decide to do with them?
I've just had the same problem. The mixture was very wet, but I have not made muffins before so thought it must be OK. The tops were done, but soggy in the middle and bottom, so left them in longer and reduced the temperature. They are now cold and have a dent in the middle. I don't think they can be resurrected even in trifle.
catnap
I haven't done anything yet, I was hoping for some more suggestions.
Luckily I do only have 9 left, I ate 2 trying to work out how bad they were and DS ate 1 - his comment was 'hmm I see what you mean, they are a bit doughy, but they taste okay' - so they are currently awaiting their fate in the fridge.
Yours sound very much the same, with the dent in the middle - ho hum, perhaps some more ideas will come along???

I thought that microwaving them would dry out the soggy bits, but when I tried earlier it didn't (that's how come I've already eaten 2 now :rotfl: ). The way I'm going, by the time I come up with something they will all be gone.
I have just googled using up stale cake (yeah, I know mine isn't), and I have come up with some variations on bread and butter pudding. My bread and butter puddings are usually soggy in the middle so the family shouldn't notice anything different.
Thanks for the suggestion angelatgraceland, keep them coming and I will let you know which option I go for.
Many thanks FFMAMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0077 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board.0 -
