Please can someone tell me how to make a signature?

    Thanks

Edited to add - hehe snap Denise!!

    Hi Phoolgrrrl
Glad I'm not the only one, :p

You add your signature by clicking on 'User CP' at the top of the page (on the blue bar above threads), then, on the left hand side you will see various bits and pieces - forgot whats there now - but I'm sure 'edit signature' is the top of the list, and then you type in your signature. You only have a few lines so try to edit down what you want to put (check out some others if you're not sure).

    Hope that helps,
    Denise

Right, I've been on here too much today, got no work done ;) so I'm off now to do some filing and ironing now it's cooled down a bit (and eating, DH has just called me for dinner numnumnum...)

Just tucked into a very non OS Dominos pizza - I was called into work this morning an 11.30.am as one of my girls had to be sent home sick - so by the time I left the cafe at 4pm the last thing I wanted to do is cook. So OH picked up the pizzas when he took DD home from work.

DDs BF was picked up from work too (M&S Food!!) so I'm also the proud owner of a lovely big FR chicken and a hot fudge pud - he buys us treats to cover our diesel.:j :j

It has been very hot here in Hull and with City, FC and Rovers all winning today the whole city seems to be outside having a Bar B Q - I just didn't have the energy but hope to get one going next Sat as it is DS's 19th BD
and he thinks it would be cheaper that going out!!! - I'm begining to think my family have been replaced by aliens:rotfl:

Anyway I have updated my sig with yesterdays trip to Asda and added in the Dominos as it wasn't planned but I should get through the week ok as I now have to get all the food in the freezer eaten before I can defrost it.

Hope everyone had a good weekend

  • Hi everyone!!!

NSD for me-sausage casserole, roast pots, parsnips for lunch (delicious even on this hot day) and packed tea which we took on our late afternoon walk around a pretty local village. The half pint of real ale at its pub went down a treat too.

Just had a tour of OB's veggie patch and green house-cucumber, spring onions, lettuce, rocket, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, loganberries, blueberries, red currants, potatoes, parsnips, brussel sprouts and brocolli all doing well-peppers are not but we've been told to keep them in the green house, wrapped up in cling film.

    So proud of him..

  • What a lovely weekend.
Yesterday OH was working so he just bought a loaf of bread for his sarnies, DD and I went to a boot fair where I bought some strawberries for 1.00 we ate them today mostly as strawberry milkshakes. PM we went to a big fayre in Richmond and all I spent was 60p on a bottle of water (would have taken my own but no bottles in the house) and a home made bun for 40p. So total spend for Saturday 2.65 We had spag bol for dinner using up veg in fridge and frozen quorn.
Went shopping today at 3pm so got loads of whoopsies 5kg potatoes for 29p 8 cox apples 34p, leeks 36p, yogurts 10p, garlic bread 20p, 250g fromage frais 20p. I so like shopping at this time. Total spend today 21.51. Made lasagne with roasties and veg with enough for two large helpings tomorrow for DS and DD. Myself and OH will have salad. Was going to bake but oven was full and it was too hot so I will do some tomorrow so there will be snacks for teens studying for exams. Will update my sig.

MrT does Saxby Short Pastry Blocks 500g in the chilled aisle for 88p or you could try this recipe:

    pastry

    8oz plain flour
    pinch of salt
    2oz butter
2oz lard (you could use all butter instead)
    cold water

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl
Rub in the fat with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs
Stir in sufficient water with a knife to form dough
Roll out and use as per recipe
brush with milk and bake until golden brown
    200C/Gas6 for 25-30 mins

If you have warm hands putting the flour in the fridge before using is supposed to help ;)

I think it is the rubbing in of the fat that is the stage where it can go wrong - and it is due to the temperature of your hands (as nikki said).

You could do the 'rubbing in' in a food processor using the metal blades - but you must not over do it.

I use exactly the same recipe as nikki except I use marg instead of butter (and lard) - we had chicken and mushroom pie tonight with shortcrust pie top - very yummy.

So have not spent anything on shopping for six days now, which is a long time for me :o.

Well am off to Mr S's this week as am going to buy the BOGOF sausages and cheese (the cheese is for next month)

Am off to read all the posts I have missed now. This thread moves soooo fast.
