Many people think more are about to go shortly in this area......0 -
Connells in Loughorough has merged with another agent here. I sold my last house with them and they were great. Loughborough is really saturated with EA's though so it was only a matter of time really. I think that is the only one gone so far.....Fashion on a ration 0 of 660

I think most of them just seemed to want a piece of the student letting cake. During my time at Lufbra Uni this certainly seemed to be the case.0 -

I'm pleased to see more Police bikes these days. They are a) less likely to kill a pedestrian in a speed chase and b) just as likely to catch up with a London criminal in a car.
AND, they have a mini siren! I asked one of the cycling cops and he demonstrated it for me.
I know there are some duff EA's and when we were selling our house I had a couple come round. However, the agent we chose - and all the others at the agency - worked really hard for us and we sold.0 -

It is part of the whining Krusty article. Interesting thought.
'That estate agents are losing their jobs is gleefully viewed by many people as the silver lining in the cloud of doom that hangs over Britain. But remember this: - we are all slaving down the mine and estate agents are the canaries.'0 -
The Ludlow Thompson in Oval and the Field & Sons in Kennington both seem to be selling/closing their offices.

I drove past the ludlow thompson office today. I certainly notice that the majority of the staff have gone. It used to be rammed with those blue & yellow beetles round there
I know they expanded into kilburn last year, but whenever I drive round Brent I hardly ever see any LT boards at all. one to watch.... Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Our agent's Bath office has just closed its doors and the company is retrenching to its original Wiltshire base. Shame, they're genuine guys who've worked hard for us, though they admit that selling in the Georgian City used to be a doddle. Not any more.
We now have four potential buyers and no agent. Better than no buyers and four agents, but still not ideal. As far as we can tell, none of these interested parties is close to selling. It seems we are still waiting for the FTBs to join the party, but they're not sure what kind of a 'do' it is, so they're going to turn up late.
With no debts/mortgage, we're tempted just to give up, put our 'house money' into term bonds at 7%+ and ride things out for a while. Please, don't tell us that's sensible, or we might just do it!0 -
Why not take six months off and go travelling ? A xDon't believe everything you think.
Blessed are the cracked...for they are the ones who let in the light. A x0 -
