Heard that Conrad EA based in Birmingham are closing down soon, spoke to one of the salesmen and they said the future doesn't look too good, they recently had to downsize their luxury BMW's / 4x4's for standard family saloons.I hate migraines.0

Why not? Make them work for their money. :j
Glad they are going down the pan, they had an easy run for the past few years flashing the cash. They also seem to be letting out more properties then selling and it all seems to be imigrants they are letting tomaybe claiming the money back from the government. Loads of Polish/African people moved into our area lately living in rented houses with the Conrad EA to let boards outside.

The pressure on EAs is not going away any time soon as the number of housing transactions slumps to a 30 year low. [Suddenly the comparisons are no longer just with the 1990s.]
Telegraph
"...RICS said that stricter lending criteria from banks and building societies have left many people unable to get a mortgage. Estate agents now have an average of 84 unsold properties on their books, compared with just under 90 in May, after new instructions fell for the sixth month in a row...."
".....Richard Powell, a member of RICS based in Oldham, Lancashire, said: "June was the worst month so far for buyer activity and the situation is worsened by a high cancellation rate due to difficulties with finance availability and a lack of buyer confidence.
Sellers are reluctant to reduce prices and are under no real pressure to sell. Buyers are sitting and waiting. The net result is very few transactions......"0 -

With the average traffic speed in London the same or worse as in 1899 when it was horse drawn, you'd pay more attention to a Foxton's bike as it sped past you in a jam, than you would to a Foxton's mini that held you up or cut in.
I'm pleased to see more Police bikes these days. They are a) less likely to kill a pedestrian in a speed chase and b) just as likely to catch up with a London criminal in a car.
