    :hello:

Well not much has happened over the past couple of days really.

I have changed my goals slightly, so here goes.

    Original Goals:

    * To be debt free end of 2008 (debts im paying interest on)
    * To pay mum back ASAP after debt free
    * To start saving for a house, to get the house in 2009 (summer)

Having looked at those goals they seem ok, but the house on is bothering me. I found out last week I have a CCJ dating back to 2004. I have paid it but obviuosly it will be on my file for the next 6 years. This is going to hinder me getting a mortgage with a decent interest rate, or a mortgage at all.

So my new goals are as follows:

    New Goals:

    * To be debt free end of 2008 (debts im paying interest on)
    * TO pay mum back ASAP after debt free
    * To save for a house (i need £3.5K for fees etc.)
    * To carry on saving until March 2010 when my CCJ runs out, then apply for mortgage/get a house

This makes more sense so that I will have extra savings which i could use for new furniture or just as a back up in case anything goes slightly wrong.

I could even start looking at houses January/February time.

Its not ideal, my flat is small and i want a garden for the cats, but in the long run it will be so much better.

    :D

    Feeling a bit down today.

Have just had a think and im going to set myself a mini-goal for this coming month (July) - incidentaly my birthday Month... hint hint.. :rotfl:

    I will:

    * Make my Credit Card balance under £2K. It currently stands at £2,619.39. *

This will mean my debt will stand at £7,452.52 which is good and will give me a boost.

i think it will be a good idea to set myself little targets like this every month, make it seem a bit more managable and also i will see the results a bit more.

Im feeling better already tonight about my new challenge.

I am also trying to work out what would be better for me in the shared ownership thing. Whether to get 25 or 50 or 75% share and how much a month it would cost and whether it would be better to do that and pay extra on something or put it in savings.

    Im confusing myself! :rotfl:

    hiya amy

just to let you know with ours, we were told there is a min of 35% to buy and they said if you CAN afford to buy more (which they decide on your circumstances not yours!) theyll tell you to buy more which you have no choice in. when we were sat down we were told "35% would be too easy for you" !!!! and were then told it was 55% or nothing. a bit different for us though granted as that was based on 2 wages. everything is still affordable now, although what will happen when i give up work when i finally have a baby is anyones guess!! the best of luck with it all though babe, i look at your thread every day for updates!! xxx

    Thank you!

I did think it would be too "easy" for me to say "I will have a 25% share please" :rotfl:

Im more than likely going for the 50% as 75% is a tad too much for me (i have worked out the mortgage and rent and its just that bit too tight).

At least 50/50 i would feel it was as much mine as theirs. :D

I have just done my food shopping on line (Asda). Done 2 weeks worth for £49 including free delivery (it was just over £50 without the multisave items). Should be delivered Friday night which means i dont have to go food shopping over the weekend - always a nightmare!

Well i have just spent the past hour updating my spreadsheet for next year.

Yes i know, how sad! :rotfl: But it has given me an idea of when I will have paid my mum back, and also when i can start saving for the house thing.

Its made me quite good, and I havent taken into account any of the extra money i hope to pay off my debts over the next couple of months. :D

    Looking good.

    :hello:

Well i got my pay slip today and my pay is £110 more a month then first expected. :j Thats made my day, and means i can add extra money to my debt payments (as i havent missed that money!) so will mean i will be debt free earlier.

So i have amended my new spreadsheet and its looking good for next year. Should clear my Credit Card by End of October 2008, should clear my loan by end of August 2008. Then i should clear my mum by the end of June 2009. All of that is not taking into account any extra payments this month or to come, which obviously depends on ebay sales, quidco etc. :T

By the end of 2009 i should also have around £4,800 in savings (thats without interest etc.). Which will mean i am over £3.5K minimum i need to start looking at getting a house in 2010. :D

ooooo thats made me feel so much better. :j
