what about taking in foreign students on a B & B basis - when ever they have field trips to this country. not sure if it is available everywhere. i live in Plymouth and so easy access from brittany ferries .. therefore lots of students come here on their field trip. have a look to see if there are language schools near you and enquire ... pay is quite good from what i have heard - and of course if you have school aged children yourself at home it could prove beneficial for them regarding there own foreign language progression. Its not cool to be a 'bugga lug' ..... and only 'bugga lugs' dont say THANK YOU !!!!0

I note from the application to become a shopper, that it asks quite personal questions (household income etc.) why should they require all this information. They could sell this on for a lot of money on top of the money they earn off you as a shopper.!!
I say do not give anybody this volume of information, especially on the web.

My advice would be if you are looking for extra money, to carry out regular extra work, then try to find something which might also help your career or take you in another direction.
While I was studying, I found a saturday job working in an estate agents I stayed there for the whole 7 years I was at uni and learnt as much as I could not just of how to be an agent, but the business side too.
When I left uni, I borrowed money and set up my own agencies. Now they are running themselves while I work elsewhere in the field I studied to be in.
Estate agents, travel agents infact anywhere that serves the public generally become busier at the weekends, and many of the full time staff would rather have the time off. So if you put the idea in their minds, you may well talk yourself into a job.0 -
I'm a bit confused and don't understand how you can make money from a website without providing a service. Is it through advertising links?
New to all this, sorry!!!0 -
Classic MLM recruitment pyramid. Persuade your friends and family to buy overpriced utility services via your recommendations, on the basis you are more trustworthy than the average salesperson (which you are clearly not or else you'd tell them they can find a better deal elsewhere). Then take a slice of their money.
You can always beat these deals by switching direct, via services such as Uswitch. This is because these MLM systems take a slice of the profit for each level of the pyramid, which adds in cost without actually adding any value. It's probably the most ridiculous structure for a sales organisation selling a commodity product that anyone could devise. Most sales organisations work to reduce headcount rather than increase it.
But hey, Paul Daniels endorses this particular one... What more could you ask?
Most people involved in MLM selling don't make money, and if they do, they are making it largely at the expense of the friends and family they are selling to downstream who could buy the same things cheaper elsewhere. Either that or the participants spam the benefits of whatever feeble deal they are offering around every single internet chatroom they can find.0 -

websiteowner wrote:I have a website and use Google Adsense and Amazon Web Services on it. Currently getting the equiverlant of about £50-70 from Google and about £50 from Amazon each month... even though I do pay around £10 for the hosting each month, the extra revenue does help to pay for it as well as pay for a few indulgencies...
...best thing is that now I have set it up, I do not have to do anything - of course if ever I want more I will have to tweak it, just too busy cutting back in other areas to want to work on it!
Thanks websiteowner
Have just applied to Google for our site, if all goes OK then may consider Amazon but that looks far more technical.Scottish_SaverNow in Gloucester:hello:0 -
Hello, this is my first posting. I fill in online surverys with a group called Light Speed Panel https://www.lightspeedpanel.com . You're not paid for doing the surveys but are entered into a prize draw every month, the more points you get the more chance you have of getting a prize. Unfortunately I haven't won anything yet!!
I like the idea of setting up my own website, but have not subject area to write about so I'll have to put my thinking cap on. There have been some good ideas posted so I think I'll try a couple them.0 -
How about volunteering for medical trials? This can be very lucrative, I am on a panel with Astra Zeneca. Haven't been able to make a trial yet for various reasons, but the pay can be upto and over £2000 depending on how long etc. You get to have a complete medical before being accepted. There is also a procedure to get onto the panel. You have to be in basic good health, not overweight or on medication. Worth looking at. For the last 4/5 years I have been signed up to a consumer research company in my local area. They do regular studys where they get people to come in (normally 20 - 30 at a time) to test products and fill out a questionaire.
The products are usually new to the market but from well known established companies (you are not usually supposed to know who these are but it is pretty easy to guess). You normally have to visit them and the studies last for 30mins - 2hrs and you get paid about £5 - £20. This depends on what you test and how long you are there. They may also provide or pay for your transport. I do on average a study once a month and products that i have tested have varied considerably including beer, cheese, sweets, deoderant, chocolate - well you get the idea.
Consumer research companies of this sort will also normally have products being tested long term. I have been testing razors for 3 1/2 years being paid £50 a week for 20 mins of my time 4 times a week. I got into this because I just kept ringing them up every month to ask if they had any studies on (pestering if you like).
They will also do focus groups, the most recent one I did was £30 for 45 mins where 8 of us talked about Tiscili broadband.
The reason I only do one a month is because consumer research companies normally have a lot of people on their books and the companies they are doing the surveys for prefer people who have not participated in a recent survey. Now I live in the Thames Valley and know of at least 3 other consumer research companies in my immediate area, so I am also on their lists. I recently tested aspirin for one and at easter signed up with another on a long term study for the G.I. diet where I eat a product and test my blood (a tiny pin !!!!!!) every 15 mins for the next two hours for £20. This usually gets me £40 - £60 a week.
As you can work out this gets me approx £4500 a year on top of anything else I earn. The best thing is that a lot of these studies (although not all) are paid cash. Unfortunatly you will normally have to live in an urban area but it is still worth looking around for these companies whereever you live.
good luck!0
