  • A good way to earn some spare cash in your spare time:

#Buy a .com domain at https://www.doteasy.com for $25 - about £14 (for 1 year) this includes free web hosting for a whole year.

#Use their site builder (no html skills needed) and free templates or search the web for a free template.

#Write lots of interesting and helpful content on a subject which interests you - but first search Google for keywords related to that subject and make sure that lots of ads appear on the right hand side. The more ads that appear the better, as this indicates that advertisers are willing to spend money in this market to attract customers. You can also use this site to see how popular keywords are and what people are searching for online:
    http://inventory.uk.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

#When your site is ready, online and has a reasonable amount of good content on it apply for the Google adsense programme: https://www.google.com/adsense/
Place the adsense code on your site (just cut and paste)
This will display google ads on your site and you will get paid when visitors to your website click on them. NB: NEVER click on ads on your own site or encourage other people to do so - this is click fraud and Google will ban you from adsense!

#Use keywords in the title of your pages and in the content, keep adding fresh content and get links to your site from other relevant sites. Hopefully after a few months you will get traffic to your site and start getting cheques in the post from Google! :)

#You could also add affiliate programs to your site - there is a list of UK ones at http://www.affiliatemax.com/top-ten.html - these work by tracking a link from your site to an online shop (eg amazon) and if people click on your links and buy something you get a % of the sale as a commission. There are literally thousands of UK companies with affiliate programs who will pay you a commission for any sales you get from people clicking through to them from a link on your website - everything from small businesses with niche products to big companies like ebay, amazon, Marks & Spencers, Virgin and Tesco. Once you have 1 web site up and running you can choose another topic and do it all again until you have several websites up and running and earning you a bit on the side...even when you are sleeping. :)

I like doing surveys too and they can pay well, but are a bit sporadic.
One weekend a couple of weeks ago I made £30+ in anhour but since then prob only made a fiver!
My fave site is valuedopinions.co.uk and nfocc.com (got a product test from them recently too). yougov.co.uk and mutualpoints are ok too, but taking me ages to reach the minimum redemption. also ciao not bad.

Westernpromise - Thanks for listing pureprofile, had forgotten about that one. Just looked and I never finished registering!!! Are they any good?

Does anyone else know of any others please?

Have tried juicybrains but don't really fit their criteria!

Also anyone know of any other product test sites? Joined a few but not had much look. Used to get a few things from cosmeticresearchonline but nothing for a while (had an email saying theyare going into clothes testing too though!)

I find pinecone research pretty good you get a £4 book of tokens that can be used in over 24 different outlets ie tesco bhs starbucks etc the tokens arrive a couple of days after filling in the research, trouble is the researches don't crop up too often this year i've done about five, plus one sample tryout and its british based, but if coupled with other researches it adds up! most of the other researches enter you in competitions which you never hear of again
or you got to get about three thousand points or more, to claim £5
ciaw (spelling) lets you fill in two thirds before saying your not suitable!
Well thats my limited experience, hope it helps a little...........

One of the better Survey Sites I am signed up to is CIAO, you can also get paid for writing reviews. You can sign up at http://www.ciao.co.uk if you wish. Surveys range from £0.50 to £5, reviews you write are paid for on the number of ratings recieved from £0.005 to £0.02 per rating I have made about £60 over the last year but have not really written many Surveys.

Test and Vote is another survey site they pay in Amazon vouchers once you get a certain number of points. http://www.testandvote.com

These are some of the best sites I also do a TV appreciation survey http://panel.gfkmedia.co.uk
  • I write freelance articles for women's magazines, they pay but I can usually get more money for people who want to be featured. They like to feature women age about 18 - 50 so if anyone has a story they'd like to see printed, drop me a line! Otherwise I sell on ebay too, trouble is I usually buy as well!

  • This one has loads of UK paid survey sites:

  • I've recently set up my own local magazine business through My Mag It's been hard work to get it going and has taken up more than 10 hours a week but it's getting easier. My initial investment should be fully covered within 4 or 5 months. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
  • I used to participate in all the online surveys that promised cash incentives if you completed the survey. However, I was finding that I would spend 20 mins doing the survey and then before the end, it would tell me that I didn't qualify! I never made much money and they never told me how I could claim the cash that I had made. I have since stopped wasting my time.

I think it depends which site you sign up for, I agree some are a complete waste of time, but others can pay quite well - IF you're lucky, meet the criteria and have the time.
