  • Slivers of Time was featured on the telly earlier this week and no-one else seems to have mentioned it yet (as far as I can tell, at any rate!). It's a way of selling small "slivers" of your time - irregular hours to suit yourself. You tell the system what you want to do, when you're available and how much you want to be paid, then employers log in when they need someone in a hurry and choose from the list of people available. The system contacts you by text with a work offer and you can either accept it or not. Sounds fantastic to me, but it's only available in a small area so far. The more people who want to work that way, the more it will take off. It's a new idea and a bit difficult to describe, but please check it out for yourself. It's on http://www.sliversoftime.com

This is a short extract from the website ......
"Slivers-of-Time is a new way of working.
Individuals run an online diary of the hours each particular day they are available for work. They also say when they can be contacted and define the types of bookings they will do at what rates.
Organisations input their needs, for example "3 people for 2 hours at lunchtime today", they see everyone who wants to do that specific booking ranked by reliability and hourly rate. They can buy instantly.
Agencies operate marketplaces for Slivers-of-Time. They vet the participants and see them into the market. Their payrolling/invoicing systems take over once a timesheet for a booking is completed. "

dont think any of these were mentioned. Also not mega bucks but hey it all adds up.

I found someone on another website who was willing to pay me to do cross stitch for them. Its a hobby of mine so its nice to be paid to do something in front of the telly of an evening that I enjoy.

Also I know a couple of people who get paid to housesit for people when they are on holidays (people in big posh houses)

And finally more on a not spending theme as opposed to actually earning, I make my own birthday cards. I've worked out I make them for up to about
30p, so its worth it for birthday, anniversary, new job etc cards, but not for Xmas cards where they are so cheap anyway.

    Hope of help to someone.

  • Same thing here...
Did you pay the £25 unixgirl?
  • No I didn't pay the £25. Its for a company called inveroak. Had no problems getting paid and they didn't ask for any money up front or any fees etc.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • I'm looking to do some extra work from home, but not sure where to start! Whether it's sticking labels on envelopes, typing, making things - i really don't mind! Does anyone have any ideas?
  • You could try setting up a virtual secretary company. Contact local businesses and see if they want to outsource typing/ filing work etc. It's not easy though as many people are looking for that type of work!
