  • " also do mystery shopping, which varies alot from £10-£30 per visit, here are some of the ones that I use:

    https://www.retaileyes.co.uk
    https://www.xec.gapbuster.com
    http://www.tns-global.com/corporate/...AA3824EC%5D%5D

That super long one is TNS that someone else mentioned, they are good actually. All 3 above are the good ones with regular work and quite good pay. "

Have tried to register as a mystery shopper with TNS but they want my NI no as verification - their phone number is also defunct - are they still kosher?

  • I do market research for an online company called Shop and Scan. They provide a tiny scanner, I then scan bar codes of my shopping each week and download them (it takes ages - all of 30 seconds to download to their website once a week). At first it may sound tedious for small reward - it's a £1 a week, but it's usually forgotten about, and then it builds up.

It's second nature and takes seconds to do, even on a biggish family weekly shop. there are often other surveys to complete to increase the points awarded per week. As it's online, and the rewards can be in various vouchers (in £10 denominations for a great variety of high st stores including Argos, JJB Sports, Debenhams etc etc) I tend to forget about it.

When son requires new footie boots for example, I just convert my points to vouchers and get stuff usually from Argos. Not much, but in my new frugal life, it's worth every penny, something for virtually nothing..

    yes they are :)
they want your NI number for tax / NI purposes
they are one of the ones who sort the tax out for you,the others you need to register as self employed

This sounds good, I went to their website and you need an invitation number, does this mean I can't sign up?

  • How about volunteering for medical trials? This can be very lucrative, I am on a panel with Astra Zeneca. Haven't been able to make a trial yet for various reasons, but the pay can be upto and over £2000 depending on how long etc. You get to have a complete medical before being accepted. There is also a procedure to get onto the panel. You have to be in basic good health, not overweight or on medication. Worth looking at. Visit https://www.healthyvolunteers.co.uk

The other thing to remember here is that under the regulations for clinical trials you can walk away at any time. So...
Register and turn up for a trial.
The first thing the company should do is give you a thorough medical (they don't want existing problems distorting their expensive trials).
Get the results of your medical.
    Walk away.

Okay, so you don't get paid, but you've just had a free healthcheck;)
If at first you do succeed, try not to look too surprised

Managed to get a second job via monster.co.uk. Its based at home and I can do the hours I want. Depending on what i'm doing I get £7, £9 or £15 an hour. Was bit sceptical till the first cheque came in. Hoping to feel up to doing a bit this weekend so I can expect a nice cheque from them next week. They seemed to have lots of working from home positions.

Hi rachelja, if you type in working from home into monster board it comes up with lots of options. I just picked one to do with my skills. The adverts they have seem to be vetted. So felt a bit better applying to one of them rather than one of the random links you see on the internet.
