Did I see mention of Hart to Hart? (Ahem, owner of the boxed sets to Series one and two!). Have to agree about Robert Wagner - if you see photos of him as a younger man, he was bloody lovely.

half with, half without. Office job is taxed (I took home £524 this month) and NI'd but AQA isn' - other than my £2.30 per week Class what ever it is NI. (I will have earned around £550 by the end of the month depending on how the next 2 days go)

That's the stumbling block at the moment - I really need to find an extra £150 or so a month to be able to cover tax for AQA - well for last year's earnings I do and then a bit on top for this year, but that is probably around an extra 20 hours work a month and I'm already working every day.

Twenty hours extra work is just 40 minutes extra per day, if you're working every day. Or maybe you could just wait until AQA is busy and then milk it as best you can.

Loving the 80s stuff! Hart to Hart was all so glam though with all the matching white robes etc. I saw Human League last year and they were awful - everyone was there for a laugh (retrofest - loads of 80s bands) and they tried to get all political, the highlight was when some bloke shouted his fashion commentary at one of the girls "haw hen, you're too old for that dress..."

AQA is only really busy on a Saturday now and I'm working around 8 hours on a Saturday and then 5-8 hours on a Sunday. They have a huge workforce and any 'slack' is taken up during the days.

Well, it was my leaving salary with the NHS so 'do-able' but opportunies around here are few and far between - I'd really need to look to going to Reading or Portsmouth maybe.

I loved him :o Even aged about 4, I think my ambition was to marry Jonathan Hart, although I think that's because I loved Freeway the dog and Mr H's red sports car.

He was cracking in Towering Inferno too (ahem, another one of my faves!), although it served only to feed my fear of heights. What a cast though.

Can you get work from their competitors as well?

It's doable, but difficult. Your area is not a hive of commerce and industry. It does get worse the more west you go, where tourism becomes king.

And of course tourism is poorly paid.

There may be opportunities in the various regional development quangos and promotional quangos, but that depends on whether you'd like to go back to doing your "old" job.

Ah the marble bath and the king-sized bed! And the plane taking off at the beginning, and the constant smoochiness. Oh, I'm so going to stick a Hart to Hart DVD on now!
