Doesn't Stork margaring contain hydrodgenated fats? Supposed to be very bad for you - I think it's banned in some countries and it's certainly being phased out of most products here.
I think I read that once eaten they are stored in the body because the system doesn't know how to use them. They collect round the arteries.
I would use a bit less butter if you can manage it.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......

I made apple crumble tonight. It was very nice but not as sort of crunchy as I hoped. The crumble was very very smooth and not sort of chunky IYSWIM.
I was totally chuffed with how breadcrumbly my rubbed in flour and butter was, my fingers were light as air, there were no lumps. Was this the problem ? should I have put in some porridge oats or something ?
I used 75g butter, 75g sugar, 225g flour and followed Delia to the letter.
What could I have done better ?
TIA

you can add some oats but I always use Demerera Sugar for extra crunch.....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Did you pat it smooth or "fork" it ? That could have made it crunchier ....Sealed pot challenge 822

Got a casserole in the oven, and want to try to make a pud (similar to a thread ongoing at the mo but did not want to hijack it!).
Have butter, flour, sugar, eggs etc, and tins of pineapple and bramley apples (well I have to start somewhere!).
Thought a crumble might be easy to do, but have not made one since school and forgot quantities and cooking times.

This one from Delia is lush! You can easily leave out the almonds and cinnamon and have a basic crumble mix.
I use half flour and half porridge oats, which gives a lovely nutty crumble.
