Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I bet that would stretch to 7 if you made it in individual ramekins
A common ploy in my house to stretch and limit the amount of ice cream the kids eat.

Wonder if it would work if you mixed up your butter with half the flour you intended and then added porridge oats and cinnamon etc. Just an idea!1

You can make up the difference with sunflower oil or any other light tasteless oil. Like Rapeseed. It really doesn't have to be a solid fat as it melts anyway! So your Olivio or any other marg would also be fine.Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include an annual free trip around the Sun.0

I'm making apple and blackberrry crumble his evening for some friends, using fruit that we picked and froze last autumn.
My crumble topping always seems to coagulate into a sort of brick on top of the fruit and I've tried so many different recipes I've lost count but with the same result.
Does anyone have a foolproof recipe that I could try please?Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
Hi Jenny,
We have an older thread with lots of crumble recipes that should help so I've merged your thread with that to keep all the suggestions together.
This other thread might give you some ideas too: Sticky-toffee-cheese apple crumble?

I need to use up apples tomorrow so will make a crumble. Don't want to buy butter though. Bit short of money atm. Can I make crumble with stork margerine?
Thanks!

I've made plenty of crumbles with stork, value spread or butter. The butter crumbles always burn! I wouldn't hesitate to use the marge.:)Katie.0
