No,what is says it is 3p CONNECTION CHARGE not per call!
No, that is what it DID say at the time of my original post on 5th September which you have kindly quoted out of context. Since then 18866 have obviously realised their mistake and rectified it on the web page. Along with my fellow posters at that time we 'suspected' what was meant anyway.

In light of the increases, I decided to subscribe to 1899 (I'd been too lazy to in the past as I don't phone that many mobile numbers from my land line). Anyway, I received an email telling me that my attempt had failed as it is oversubscribed and that I shouldn't try again before 6 weeks. That'll teach me to get off my lazy a** and sign up to these offers straight away. Anyway, I think a 3p flat fee is pretty incredible. I have signed up my ma and pa on my account too and the calls are still cheaper than BT :T

I had the same problem with 18866, and i was told by a fellow forum member here, to register with a mobile number, then once you get the email confirming everything, then add your home number.

This did work, i tried several times to sign up using my home number, but managed to sign up 1st time using mobile number, then adding my home number after that.

I would think 1899 will be the same.

Yes, this solves the over subscribed problem for both 18866 and 1899 icon7.gif

Yes, Call1899 charges the same for non-BT landline customers providing they dial Call1899's freephone access number, 0808 1 708 708. See here for more information.

The question hansi is when will this stop ? or will we all end up tolerant to these gradual price rises ?

Or we can just put our calls through BT

I have used the 1899 provider for about 6 months. I dial an access code 0808 170 7474 and then the no. I have never had a problem with them and will not concern myself on how long they can provide calls for a 3p connection charge. This is up to them but in the meantime I;m enjoying the savings. Also this is a subsidary of Swiss Telecom.
