    No, it wasn't.

Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

Well, we'll see....it looks like a typo on their website.
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...

The connection charge is 3p and the call is 0p per minute.
It DOES say connection is 3p per minute on the 18866 web page, which suggests to me it has been done in a rush. Has the announcement just appeared today?

I too have looked on the web site and it is a mistake on the part of 18866.
So callisj only copied what he saw.

But it still remains:- the connection fee is going up to 3p per call and the cost of the call is 0p per minute.

    Didn't mean to upset anyone.

  • I would suggest its a typo on the part of 18866.Why not wait until tomorrow make a short 01/02 call, and check to see what they charge.
If it was 3p a min they would soon go out of business, would they not.

I also agree its a typo on the 3ppm as it reads, "From the 6th of september all calls via 18866 are subjected to a connection fee of 3p per minute..... " but then it goes on to say, "All calls to landlines within the U.K. will remain 0p per minute!"

As there is no difference in cost of calls between Call18866 and 1899 then I may move to Call1899 only because they generally do cheaper international rates and mobile calls. I realise they may not be the cheapest for these types of calls but it is very rarely that we make those types of calls as its mostly just geographical and 0845 calls.
  • Now that 18866 charge the same connection fee as 1899.Apart from cheaper rates, another good reason you might like to switch to 1899 (if you are not a autodialer user) is you cant make the Fat Thumb Dialling mistake of dialling 118866 in error and being lumbered with an expensive DQ call.

  • I have just made a 01/02 call from 18866.I have checked the online invoice and it only charged me 3p connection,so the (3p a minute connection) shown on the site is definitely a typo!!!
The first page as you enter the site is also misleading as it still shows 2p a minute connection.

...The first page as you enter the site is also misleading as it still shows 2p a minute connection.
The very first page here reads, "You will only pay a 3p connection charge." I'm pretty sure thats what it was last night as well because I checked it as soon as I read on this forum it was increasing.

At least we know it is definitely only 3p per call and not per minute.

And like pricefighter has said in a previous post, for those that have been mis-dialling call18866 and getting the DQ service 118866 can now swap over to Call1899. We have a Orchid dialler so that was never a problem for us which is lucky as it is a very expensive mistake to make.
  • web site for 18866 shows 1p connection charge
    new charge 3p ? from today ? 06/09 /05
    has anyone else noticed ?
