    Morning all

Pennypinchingpenguin, what about some fat-blitzing exercise, as Yoga and weights are a bit more about toning than fat burning?

    - High impact aerobics
    - Badminton/tennis/squash
    - Cycling (moderate/high effort)
    - Rowing/canoeing
    - Boxercise/kickboxing/martial arts etc
    - Circuit training
    - Football/hockey/basketball/rugby
    - Jogging/running
    - Swimming

As you probably know, if you work at higher intensities you'll get into the fat burning zone and use more calories. Interval workouts are good too :)

Whenever my weight loss has stalled I've always tried to change something about my routine, like try a different eating pattern or take up a new activity. PinkLipgloss' advice to do things you enjoy is excellent, I'd also add don't be afraid to try things you've never done before even if you think they sound daunting or you think you won't like it!

Interesting thing about breakfast in this month's Zest magazine, it says that if you skip breakfast you starve your body of nutrients and prompt it to store whatever you eat for the rest of the day as fat! A study showed that consuming less than 11% of your daily intake at breakfast also promotes weight gain - they recommend you have at least 22% of your daily calorie intake at breakfast!

Agree with Missy in part but don't forget that resistance training (weights etc) means that you continue burning calories for a longer time period than with CV work, and as your muscle mass increases you are also using more calories just existing :T A combination of cardio and resistance is ideal. Yoga can also be incredibly powerful too, I know people with bodies to die for who only do yoga. The most important thing as has been said is to find something you love.

Suggsy, belated happy birthday for yesterday! Not been on for a couple of days so didn't know; glad to hear you had a lovely time, and what a pressie :T

Will catch up soon peeps xx

PPP - Sorry I should have made it clear I didn't mean ditch your current efforts in favour of something else, but as you feel you have stalled, perhaps think about adding something new to the mix :)

I include weights and yoga in my weekly routines along with the cardio work and I'm very pleased with the results.

I never seem to explain things properly, sorry :o - good job Bails is around! Hope you're OK Bails?

Hehe Kymrob you are most certainly allowed a treat considering your excellent results! Enjoy!

I have an eye test today and weather looks very dubious but I'm going to take the risk and cycle into town. Might arrive at son's assembly this afternoon sporting the drowned rat look :rotfl:

Had baked crisps (yummy) to tide me over as I probably won't get time for lunch today, so I'll eat properly later on. I feel really pleased I've kept completely on track for 12 days now :D

Hope everyone has a great weekend planned - anything exciting?

I've just got back from Boden (their shop is just around the corner) and I've got a lovely top in a size 16:j . YES! I automatically took the 18 into the changing rooms but two of my mates work there and told me to try on a size smaller. They were right it looks great! Added bonus too one of my mates is the manageress and I got a 20% discount.
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

    Tagz,

Congrats! I LOVE IT when that happens!

After I lose all my excess weight I'll have the perfect excuse to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes :rotfl:

4 more days till weight in hopefully I'll be posting a loss.... only time will tell!

I still do that, I automatically look for the biggest size they stock (think 20-22) and often catch myself thinking "barstewards..." then I remember that I can get away with a size 14 in most stores now. YAY for weight loss and pretty clothes.
