Are we not supposed to use the word diet, BB? I still use the word, when people ask me how I have lost weight I say "diet and exercise". I didn't realise that might be seen in a negative way by some? Perhaps I should change it to "healthy eating and exercise" or something like that.
In the interests of free speech you can say whatever you like missyg: I only run a benign dictatorship at home, not here:rotfl: . I was just refering to past conversation: some folks find the word diet carries such negative connotations from past yoyoing, or is synnonymous (sp)with deprivation, that in order to reprogram themselves with a healthier approach to food, they no longer refer to their eating plan as a 'diet'. Of course the original sense of the word mean, what ever we eat is our 'diet'. But if anyones wants to lose weight and keep it off, it is about developing positive healthy attitutes and eating in a balanced way that is sustainable. When you say 'diet and exercise' , I would suggest you already mean healthy eating and exercise. Some might hear it as deprevation and exercise though if they have bad weight loss experiences!

Suggs, you are being so coy!! Come clean -we want to celebrate on your behalf. My forties are the best phase of my life yet (which just goes to show how carp my 20's and 30's were:rotfl: ).

Ok Ok I admit it, Its my Birthday and I am 40 years young at around 6pm tonight :j sorry Im a low key sort of person, but then get annoyed if people forget, twisted I know. and no -one has offered a birthday kiss? :(;)

How did I celebrate? I went to the gym of course, and for the first time jogged 3.5 miles on the treadmill :j in a time of 31mins 27sec. Only did it because someone else was hogging the cycles. So did 15mins on the cross trainer then the jogging.

We should be heading out for some thai tonight, so not completely LW today Ajax, but if you want to head down to bedfordshire, please do, I live in buckinghamshire :p

Well done on the job Vix, doesnt sound like my sort of job but good news for you. Regarding the wii shop, keep an eye on Hotukdeals and the MSE Grabbit board, always good hints there.

Right back to my SOW for now.

    Cake anyone? :D

    Hello,

I'm thinking about having a go at slimming world but wondered how you work out what syn values a certain food is, for instance I like chicken from Sainsburys covered in a southern fried flavouring. I understand that chicken is free on one of the days (red or green?) but how do you work it out if it's not a plain old chicken breast?

    thanks
