THINK POSITIVE.........thinking of u and lots of hugs from me and my 2 angels...0

Thanks jaghir, your post has given me hope along with all the other postive 'it wasn't cancer' posts.....
I am slim too....did they say what caused these lumps when it isn't cancer? Why would one just appear out of the blue when I have never had one before?~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -

Hi Ember,
It's no consolation to hear other peoples stories when you're going through it at this very moment but we want to tell you so that you don't feel like you're going through this alone. We want to prove that we understand the feelings you're having.
It took me over a month to pluck up courage to see the doc about my lump then a further 17 weeks for an appointment to come though. I would lie awake at night feeling the lump....just to see if it had disappeared....which it didn't. I thought everything that you're thinking "I'm too young, I don't want to die, how will I cope, will I lose my hair"......I walked into the breast unit at my hospital feeling like I was in a dream. My lump turned out to be ok and eventuallywent away on its own
.....yours is probably ok too so please try not to become too upset. Your hand will go to the lump without you realising but you must try to leave it alone and be satisfied that you're going to get it looked at within 14 days. Nothing is going to change in 14 days so please try to push the worry to the back of your mind and look towards a positive outcome.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
Being 'so young' is to your advantage Ember as most lumps found in young people are benign.
Try not to keep touching it Ember as you will make yourself sore and bruised.
Hope you can get some sleep tonight and that tomorrow is a better day. It's the not knowing that makes things worse.
I've been through the same thing as you several times and with me being an older woman the chance of something serious was high. Fortunately every lump and I've had four of them has turned out to be benign.
We're all thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Thank You Rovers, Jay-Jay and Maisie...I will try to do as you have said, try not to worry and leave the lump alone as it is hurting me now, it's like a dull throbbing, probably as I have been fiddling with it for hours. Life just seems a bit surreal at the moment, like I am in a dream. If I get through this, i am never going to take life for granted again...thanks for your help xx~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0

Hi Ember
I've had a few scares myself over the last few years but I can still remember that sickening, heart-stopping first one when life suddenly turned upside down and I felt utterly powerless and too scared to even think straight.
It's so difficult to take on board anything that anyone says at a time like this so don't feel guilty if all the reassuring words just seem to float over you. Just do whatever it takes to get yourself through the next couple of weeks. There is light at the end of the tunnel even if you can't see it just now. Remember you have your lovely new home to look forward to.....
Much love to you and to Mr Ember XXX♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0 -

RING BUPA OR NUFFIELD IN THE MORNING (NUMBER OF THE LOCAL PRIVATE HOSPITAL WILL BE IN THE PHONE DIRECTORY UNDER HOSPITALS / PRIVATE HOSPITALS) AND ASK FOR AN URGENT CONSULTATION FOR A SCREEN OF A LUMP FOUND IN THE BREAST, YOU SHOULD GET AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS (IF NOT TOMORROW) IF ITS GOOD NEWS GO OFF AND ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND. IF THE NEWS IS NOT SO POSITIVE THEY WILL ARRANGE FOR YOU TO BE SEEN URGENTLY BY A CONSULTANT AT THE LOCAL NHS HOSPITAL, THERFORE CUTTING OUT YOUR 2 WEEK APPOINTMENT DELAY.Give blood - its free0 -
Ember don't worry about the needle biopsy if you have to have one. It's not too bad. A bit like having an injection except they are drawing a tiny amount of fluid out instead of putting fluid in the body. I didn't feel anything at any time. I just watched the screen and saw what the doc was doing.
Some doctors use a local anaesthetic if necessary so don't worry too much about the biopsy.
I didn't get the results straight away but it does vary with where you live. We don't have those central breast clinics where they do everything at once where we live.
My thoughts are with you. Maisie0 -
Hi Ember
I have just seen your posts today and my heart goes out to you .
I want to reterate what eveyone else has said: that is it is almost certainly going to be benign, especially as I get the feling that you are quite young.
I work in a one-stop breast clinic where the ultra sound, mammograms and fna tests are done. Because of the set up the women do get the results of these tests on the day where possible; your hospital may have this system or it may be that you have to wait for results. Please remember that mammograms are not always a suitable test especially the younger woman so don't be concerned if you are not offered one.
Please please try and stay calm. Being seen within 2 weeks and having a series of tests is standard practice and not a reason to panic more.
Really try and leave the lump and breast alone as you recognise you are now concious of the area. Any queries feel free to pm me.0
