Hi Ember. My thoughts are with you. I know how scary it is to find a lump. I saw my GP a couple of months ago about one and she advised me to wait till after my next period in case it was related to that, which most are. Mine was still there after the next period so I was referred to my local breast clinic and got an appt within 3 weeks. The lady who examined me had a bit of trouble finding the lump as it could only be felt whilst I was upright, soon as I laid down neither of us could feel it. She said if the lump was something to worry about you should be able to feel it if I am upright or not,but seeing as I was there she done an ultrasound to put my mind at rest. Thankfully it was good news and the lump was just fatty tissue which she said was very common in large breasted women like me.
I hope all goes well for you.

Thinking about you Ember. Hope all was okay at the docs.
It is scary when you find a lump but it is so true that most lumps are nothing to worry about.0 -
Just logged on - glad you have managed to get a doctors appointment so soon as either way - that is the best thing.
If it is benign then you should have your mind put at rest and if there is a problem then the sooner it is dealt with the better.
Best of luck and we will all be thinking about you."This site is addictive!"

Ember, I'm a breast cancer survivor. This is a scary time.....but 80% of breast lumps are benign. You are doing the best thing seeing your GP. Explain your fears and tell him you want to see a breast specialist. You should be fastracked to be seen within 2 weeks. Don't be put off with a 'wait and see' by the Dr. You want this lump seen and biopsied..... which is the only sure way they can tell you if its cancer.
Please pm me if you need any more info..... unfortunately, by experience, I am an expert on this.0 -
Agree completely with Liverbird, I'm a survivor too. It's probably nothing to worry about but getting it checked as early as possible is the best thing to do. I have everything crossed for you here.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Please dont forget to let us know how you get on when you feel ready to.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
I have had a lump too and any of the above will tell you its the worst 2 weeks of your life waiting for the scan/specialist. All kind of horrid thoughts were running through my mind but in the end I was absolutely fine - thinking of you. lots of love. S.O.M.0
