Yes but in the past my payment could have gone on a Saturday but not anymore - and the good thing is, it does warn you whereas before it wouldnt have0

Would only have gone on a Sat if internal (might have 'appeared' to have gone if external)?
Whilst Halifax run systems on a weekend ... virtually no one else does .... so it's got no outlet into the wider banking world until Sun night (Mon this week because of the BH).If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
You can;t do an internal transacgtion to a credit card. At counters its always debited as cash and then credited to the card as cash.
Ah well, this is only an additional payment to the one I have already done this week over the counter0 -

Didn't realise that ... haven't used my Halifax CC in 3 years, therefore the memory is fading! If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

You used to get a choice to display your accounts by roll number or sortcode/account number.
I am well aware of that having used the ability to switch quite frequently over the fairly lengthy period I have used this online system.
Yesterday morning (the last time I logged-on) that part of the system was not working. The accounts were being displayed with roll-numbers (they would initially be sortcode/account numbers in my setup) and the message at the bottom gave me the option to display using roll-numbers (which of course it already was).
I selected this option (to see if it made any difference). The accounts still had roll-numbers displayed (which I expected) and the message at the bottom changed (giving me the option to display sortcodes/account numbers, which I also expected). On selecting this, I had hoped that the initial problem would be rectified and the display would revert to sortcodes/account numbers - as it should have done.
Did it? ... Did it hell!
In my book, that's a crappily written piece of work that was not properly tested.
I'll have another look in a short while to see if any fixes have been done.
Edit:
Well at least they have now fixed this particular problem.Imprudent granting of credit is bound to prove just as ruinous to a bank as to any other merchant.

i had this trouble i always set up a transfer from one halifax account to another on the last friday payday and it shows up in the account that day but now they have removed this option i have to wait till monday for the money to even leave my account so if i accidently spend too much or if something else "shows " up on my account they can charge me money for it
online banking is the way they push everyone and then they remove simple facilitys like this
you go into the bank to withdraw money and you get abuse for trying to withdraw amounts of £300 firstly they want you to use the cashpoint to w/d first 300 then to go back t them to withdraw the rest but still they abuse you for daring to want to take out more than the daily limit
so i sed to find online banking simple and abuse free . its one further reason why im saying bye bye halifax if they ever let me close my accounts the amount of excuses and time i wasted trying to close that one saturday
i seem to think banks believe that we are off all week monday to friday and that we can go in at there convenienec

they haven't removed the same day option between halifax accounts - you have to set up a transfer on the new system.
I did it myself today between my websaver and bank account. Had to set up a transfer, and send the money. Then got an email saying my transfer details have been saved.0 -

As jem 16 said further up, we used to be able to set up a payment to Sainsbury's as if it was an internal account.
Although the account still shows, you can't make a payment so we've had to delete and set it all up again. When a payment goes, it's not same day but next working day at the earliest.
Are you saying it's different with a websaver? Our problems are merely due to Sainsbury's no longer being classed as internal?0 -
Yes my money appeared instantly in my bank account from my websaver. I also transferred money from my ISA into my bank account (again had to set up a transfer) so i could buy a camera today. All instant.
I guess sainsbury's maybe different0 -
Also RS1, rather than start a new topic but seeing as you work for H it seems, can you bypass opening a variable websaver and go for a fixed one if you have the HICA?
The T&Cs seem to infer you can but elsewhere it says no.
2.4:
If you want to open a fixed-rate option, you can transfer the funds either from a Halifax or Bank
of Scotland Current Account registered with our online service or from a variable-rate option.
If you transfer funds from any other account with us or with another bank or building society,
you must pay the money into a variable-rate option first. You may have to open a variable-rate
option to do this.0
