Yeah I'd heard that from someone I work with who' tried it and given up. But I thought it wa worth a go!

When I've not got as much on as I have now, I may look into setting up a proper website. But I've not had chance to research web hosts yet!

  • I've tried a variety of kits, but I really like the enammelled wire kits, you very need few tools, they do great bright colours, and you can bend and shape with you hands, adding in beads, twists and texture.
Try cooksongold the Kits are cheap, less than £10 & including wire, beads & instrctions.

I subscribe to Let's Make Cards and think its brilliant because of the amount of stuff they send you - I've hardly had to buy any stock for card making. Last month they had an insert for Make Jewellery, a new magazine that they were launching, which sounded great - and I assumed it would be similar in that it would have basic stock included. I'm quite disappointed to have received it and found that there is NOTHING included with it.

I wanted to start making jewellery and thought this would be a brilliant way to get a basic stash of wire, beads etc. Ah well - will just have to use the £4 off at Hobbycraft voucher that's in there instead :D

Looking forward to starting - all your designs are lovely! :T

I was very disappointed with the Make Jewellery magazine as a whole, and am still not that impressed with the other new one Making Jewellery, both a bit too glossy and unsubstantial for me.

Not sure if people are still posting here but i'll blether on anyway. :)

I started making jewellery a few years ago but haven't touched beads for a good 8 months until a friend asked me to make a bracelet for her and now my love of beads is back. although that's probably not a good thing for the bank balance.

anyhoo just thought i'd say hello. I;ve had a nosy through some people flickr pics and there's some stunning work there.

I've been making some beaded snowflakes for Xmas decorations, but need some new jewellery pliers. What are the best type to get, I need something with a small 'nose' so I can wrap the wire over, but do I need ones with smooth jaws or ridged, or something else entirely?
