    Hi everyone!

Hope you are all well! I have been lurking on this thread for a wee while and really want to start making my own jewellery. I am getting married next year and would love to make some for my bridesmaids as thank you gifts. I am planning on doing my own tiaras and have made a start to making my own buttonholes.

I have come across 2 'For Dummies' books about Jewellery making and beading.

This on and this one. I wondered if any of you have used either of these books and would be interested to hear what you thought about them?

I've only managed to read halfway through this thread so I apologise if someone has already posted about this!

    Thank you in advance!

Hi Nat82, I have the Jewellery Making and Beading one, quite a good book, with some nice projects in it. Though I can't remember seeing much about tiaras and headresses in there. I found a couple of tutorials on the net and was self taught with my tiaras, there are some books out there with help and tutes for them, but I reckon you would need to be looking at wirework books as that is what it comes under.

Thanks for your replies! I've got a book for the tiaras and have already started with them, I'm now itching to get into the jewellery side of things! Just spent a small fortune on JillyBeads!

and on utube there are lots of instructions and also library really good for beading, and general crafty, books...I tend to look on amazon and then order it from library! Have been good and only bought 1 (100 beaded jewellry designs which is ok...)
vicks how did you do the middle one? Love all of them but that one def sellable! Am doing quite a nice trade in work! Will upload photos when I get a mo...am doing a beaded fringe one (newly learned from abouve site!) Takes ages but looks good and you can use different sized beads plus cheap money to make although time costly...

Thanks for that! I've got one of them on reserve from the library but it's taking ages! Had it reserved for 3 weeks now! Can you recommend any other books?

The second one is easy peasy - 1 long piece of tigertail, fold in half, add a jumpring and crimp over both, add a bead on each and cross them through a crimp (but don't squish it!) and repeat. I love making them! Thanks for all the kind comments xx
