    Hello everyone,

I just bought a jewellery making kit from ebay and some fimo. I used to use fimo when I was younger but have gotten out of practice! Am looking forwards to making stuff for myself and friends.

Does anyone else use fimo? I'm aiming towards making kitch bracelets/earrings with things like sweets and cakes on them as they tend to be popular with my friends.

This is a great thread :)

    Hi all

Thought I would join in with some of the many bits I have made.... the top set I made yesterday... Im more into x-stitch really but do this when I fancy it -mainly now I'm doing it to raise funds for my local hospice back home ;)
Last week i did treat myself to a book on crocheting with wire -which I think I'm really going to take too :j
I love seeing what everyone else is doing...:D

    Hi Heidiboo

Thanks...I don't do it very often now -I have to really fancy it...

If I'm threading beads on to wire etc once I have all the beads on I slide a crimp bead on, thread the wire through the ring attatched to the clasp, then back through the crimp bead and back throught the last few beads I have thread... grab it with the pincers and pull until tight -you can then snip the end off and tuck into the next bead -does that make sense :D - I will see if I can get a pic..

They are gorgeous.... how do you get on with crimp beads? I hate them with a passion :rotfl: I'm forever "crimping" them only for them to break in two  ... I try to avoid them like the plague :D
Im going to get some wire ordered today and then I can have a play with the crocheting :p
I have had 1 quick go (that I will take to pieces again ;) ) -just using some bits n bobs in my kit - I think Im going to like it but I just need the practice to make it neat enough :p

  • I have had various experiences with crimp beads, I now buy a different type and they are brilliant, i havent had one break on me yet

They are shorter and more chunky than ones I have bought previously

    Hi,

not sure if I've put this in the right place. But I've just registered with Etsy and I'm thinking of registering with Folksy to give selling my things online a go.

I just needto take pics of things now and set up my "shop". I'm hoping to dedicate sometime this weekend to it - in netween house hunting and wedding planning!!
