They look great Jo - I'm glad you showed them on the glass as I haven't tested any yet to see how they look!!!! Yes I think that they will sell well and as you say they are easy to make!!!!

Have you ever made any of these rings up with the charm loops on them? I am having a go now and they are very fiddly!!!!

I've been having a think about the party idea. Has anyone else done any of this and if so, can you give me any info on how you go about it etc etc.
I'm completely new to the idea so any help would be great! :D

Thanks Angie, I normally use charms that already have a ring on them. I bought about 100 organza bags in several colours when I was on my party run so I use them too.

Noggin - I typed a long reply then it wouldnt post so I'll condense it!

Ask friends and family to host a party - Friday night, couple of bottles of wine, girlie night in.
Make sure you have loads of stock and sell everything as a one off. The only orders we took were on things like bag charms/wine glass charms/book marks. We asked for a colour theme and worked off that using up beads we already had.
Leave enough room in between parties to make more stock. There were two of us but we still needed at least two weeks.
    Take lots of change!
Use a duplicate book for orders.
We bought some suede fabric to cover the hosts dining room table. Use every day objects to display your stuff - fat short vases are great for necklaces. Take a bag to display bag charms, book for book marks etc so that people know what they are for.
We printed off descriptions and prices on card and folded it over.
We made a jewellery set - necklace/bracelet/earrings and raffled it off for £1 a ticket.
Let your host have a free gift of their choice.
Take your tools and bead box in case anything needs altering.
Take organza bags - either include them in the cost of the item or charge extra for them and market them as a gift bag if being bought as a pressie!
If someone buys a lot of stuff, offer a discount or give something for free (earrings are the best because they are so cheap and easy to make!)

Hope this helps and good luck!

Or, if you don't mind a bit thicker cord then use fishing nylon cord - much much cheaper from a fishing shop and really strong ;)

Only just found this thread and I've been making jewelery for years. I even made tiaras for me, and 2 bridesmaids for my wedding. I have also done lots of bead weaving and made my own completely beaded bags too.

Just made this one last week, it was for a forum challange where you had to use 3 shades of blue, no more, no less.

Wow Jo that is really stunning. Did you do the scrolls yourself with wire? I love the colours. Did it take you long to do??

When I said charm rings earlier I meant finger rings which you attach beaded charms to. I've just bought some and they are very fiddly to do!!! The rings are adjustable so I thought they might be popular for the summer. Will post a piclk if I manage to get one done without throwing it across the room!!!!

    Hi Angie, and thanks *blush*

I did the wirework on a jig, imaginatively called the Thingamyjig, the sort where you put the little pegs in and wind the wire around them, swearing loudly as they pop out part way through, and then you hit yourself in the eye trimming the last little bit of wire off (one day I will be able to aim those bit at the bin and not all over the bloomin room! it's the same with head/eye pins)

Anyway I digress there, it took about half and hour to do that bit, then it took ages to make the little dangles for it, (and cleared me out of dark blue bicones) then attach them all, make it sit right and then decide how and what I was going to attach it to.

Took about 2 hours altogether, was quite proud of it when I had finished it.

I have some of those rings you are talking about, I think mine have 6 hoops on, have only made one so far with glass beads, can't remember if I put 2 or 3 'charms' on each hoop. I listed it on my website this week, so we shall see if it gets any interest. But you are right, they are very fiddly to do..... lots of swear words required when attaching them!
