I've been to Ikea today and they had these display type tree things reduced from £3.49 t9 99p. They are great for hanging bracelets and necklaces from if you are selling or doing a craft fair. They come in 2 pieces - base comes away from the main piece. Thought I'd share my buy with you as it may be useful to someone else!! Here's a pic:0

Hello everyone:hello:
Please can someone help me, I'm still really new to this lark (although am spending a fortune on beads!), can anyone tell me how to make a bracelet? A rigid, bangle type bracelet without a clasp? I tried with memory wire, it seems really small & how would I join the 2 ends together? I bought a bangle with screw on end caps from a site, but it is really thick & the beads I want to use are drilled much too small to fit on it. I really want to make a rigid circular beaded bangle, no ends & a discreet join.
Thanks everyone:wave:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Lillibet, with memory wire you don't join the two ends together, they stay seperated, but you do either glue a bead on the ends or bend the ends over in a loop (can also attatch a dangly bead from the loop)
That's the only way I can think of. But I haven't had enough coffee yet, so may be back later0 -
Raphael, if you go over the the UK Beaders forum, or the BeadBuddies forum, there are people on there that are silversmiths and some that work in Precious Metal Clay, they may be able to help you, both forums have a section for PMC workers, I am sure that someone should be able to help you out, if you need to, tell them Delta sent you
You may have to register to post, don't worry it's free, and most of the people have their websites in their signatures or profiles so you can have a look at their work, and they really are nice people, and I am sure that one of them could give you a good price.
Just wanted to say thanks again! Got my quote, and going to get it made.

Hello!
This thread has given me some ideas and inspiration, and the push to get my jewellery stuff out. I started making a few things about 3 years ago, and did one craft fair (mainly took my cards, but decided to give the jewellery a go too). It didnt go too badly. But since then a lot went on in my life, and i stopped doing much. I keep collecting beads when i spot them at reasonable prices etc and keep looking at them but havent had the urge to make anything.
Ive decided im going to make something next week, when ive got a couple of days to myself. Ive got birthdays coming up, but no money so i could make good use of my skills for making some nice jewellery as gifts? Already stocked up, so just need to make something now!

Hi all, have just discovered this thread and it is fabulous!!
I am about to embark on making my own earings and necklaces...I am allergic to metal(ok with sterling silver and gold) and finding it harder and harder to get funky earings and beads etc.
Once I have made something I will upload a picture.
I am about to sort out my beads and work out what bits n pieces I need to purchase...I am soooooo excited:D
If you obey all the rules...you miss all the fun!! Katherine Hepburn0 -
Hi Carol. Good luck with the jewellery making. I've bought lots of my things on ebay and find good prices there. Look forward to seeing pics of anything you make.0
