Please tell me then on what basis do you disagree with their editorial? Maybe you have more information than the rest of us - if so then please share it with us.

I said some you win, some you lose, meaning I wasn't going to get into a debate concerning your OP. I tried and failed to get a TV for 49p, no skin off my nose, I'll lose no sleep over it.
Regarding the harbouring email addresses, Argos already have my FULL details from past purchases made on their site.
That doesn't bother me in the least.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Just an observation................
The Data Protection Act requires any website in the UK that collects personal information to publish a privacy policy. Personal information includes name, email address, telephone number, address, or any info that can identify you. The website MUST by law tell you what they will do with this information and offer an opt out from any mailings they may do. If a website doesn't do this they are breaking the law under the Data Protection Act.
The Argos website has a privacy policy that complies fully with the Data Protection Act. If anyone ignored it, that was their own problem. I've just looked all through the website for this class action. THEY DO NOT HAVE A PRIVACY POLICY. Under UK law, their request for your info is illegal!
It wouldn't surprise me if this website was set up by scammers trying to harvest information themselves. Anyone that has signed up with them have given a LOT of personal info with no protection whatsoever.
This gives an impression that some people here are going to get scammed. Argos was a mistake, but if this site is really a solicitors site. They would have at least made sure that they themselves comply with the law? Something not right here!!! Maybe they figure that if anyones dumb enough to try to pursue this case, they will also be dumb enough to give away their personal info for nothing.

I thought quite early on whilst watching the Argos mis-price that this sort of thing brings out the worst in some people - shows up the bad apples - I've seen it on here once before with a similar less well publicised pricing error.
For the vast majority - decent minded folk - it was a bit of fun and no harm done long-term. Then there are the odd few pathetic individuals who stamp their precious feet and give it the full I want I want. Add up the time spent fannying about trying to get people to believe one daft theory or another and chasing compensation etc and you could of got a part-time job and actually earned the money to buy the TV at a realistic price. You know, work for what you get!
Apologies for the above rant but it riles me a little that a tiny minority on here sour the friendly money saving objective community and become relentless vulchers.0 -
Guys
This was an honest error. Let it go.
