My word?
- Ive got 2 witnesses contact details. I didnt ask them to be my witnesses they offered themselves to be witnesses straightaway.
-police said they will look into the video cameras
I know that i was in the green, besides i didnt hit her , she hit me so she was well late jumping the light. 1 of the witnesses is the lorry driver behind me who acknowlodges i was in the green. We'll have the videos as evidence anyway.
It might only be speculation if she would have hit the lorry or not but the lorry could have hit her instead also.. BUT I also think the pedestrian crossing on the road she was on, was green to pedestrians... Im almost sure it was, because i cross that road to go to college
There would be of no benefit to me to start this thread if i was lying. Im stating all the facts as accurately as i can to see if anyone could tell me where i might stand on this...
I think there have been a fair number of people who have suggested that you could be in serious trouble, both financially and legally.
You will have to want and see.
It is a hard lesson to learn and the wrong way to learn it but you will move on from this and, hopefully, not do anything so daft in the future0 -
Oh and because she was insured she can be a careless driver?? Thats exactly what causes death on the roads! I was uninsured ok i was in the wrong but that will cause a lot of financial hassel (to me included).. But metal gets replaced as i said...The ruining of lifes for careless driving doesnt
I was only illegal as far as the insurance goes...I will regret for a very long time for not having paid £15/£20 to get temporary cover..
Im not defending people who drive uninsured, NO. They must be prosecuted as i will be...
That statement doesn't help I am sorry to say.
You should not have driven the car - the end
You did, and you were unfortunate enough to be part of an accident which found you out.
You are correct you, and others, will regret this for some time to come.0 -

If you weren't constantly trying to deflect blame away from yourself people might have more time for you & even offer advice.
But all through this, you keep on trying to off load the blame & make us see your side of it.
As a criminal driver, you really need to start taking responsibility for the crime you have committed & the trouble you have caused.0 -
The difference here is that the other driver didn't set off to deliberately cause an accident, but you did deliberately drive knowing that you were already committing a criminal act.
Unfortunately accidents do happen on the roads and that is why we need insurance. How many times have you broken the law by driving uninsured before? It sounds like you may well have done this on many other occasions and it has finally taken an accident for you to get caught out. It doesn't matter if it was her fault, as accidents do happen but you committed a crime before she even got into her car.0 -

Im am.
6pts and a fine are only the start. I said to my parents if they want to acuse me of theft they can do so, as long as it gets their car repaired - I live with them and i only borrowed it but that wont stand in court ,i know.
I also go to bed and wake up thinking about it.
Im offloading the blame as to who was guilty to the crash. Lot of people in this thread are forgeting the fact that 2 drivers were wrong and are only judging me, but i was expecting that
Anyhow I wanted pople to put Everything into prepective and offer helpful and factual advice. Some done so - thanks
I also wouldnt be so sure that the people who were so quick to judge (fair enough) have never done anything worse, Perhaps driving after a few drinks.. I know some people who do it...0 -
Busygirl, she has likely jumped the light deliberately. that is asking for trouble.. She can also be prosecuted for doing so. Im really glad that no one got hurt0

Road accidents do happen and I'm sure she regrets the stupid decision she made in not waiting for the green light. But I don't think she got in her car deliberatley intending to jump the light and to cause an accident, it was a very stupid split second decision on her part, which I am sure she regrets now.
But it sounds like you are trying to deflect the blame here. If you had insurance then her insurance company would pay and she may be prosecuted for her dangerous driving (who knows maybe she still will).
The fact is that you had no insurance, you willing drove someone else's car without insurance, you made that decision and you sound so annoyed that you got caught out. You are in the wrong here too. Why should her insurance company pay for your damage even if it was her fault, if you have been driving around without insurance? What if you had caused the accident who would have paid then? Seems like a double standard here.
I'm far from perfect but I am honest and I've never driven without insurance and certainly never driven a car after drinking or a night out drinking. I have seen the damage that drink drivers have done.0 -
But metal gets replaced as i said...The ruining of lifes for careless driving doesnt
:T I couldn't have said it better myself. Take your own advice - nothing counts as careless driving as much as getting behind the wheel knowing you have no insurance, which potentially (in your own words) causes the 'ruining of lifes'.
Metal DOES get replaced. The sooner you put your hand in your pocket, the quicker it will get replaced. No wonder our insurance premiums go up every year.0 -
……... Why should her insurance company pay for your damage even if it was her fault, if you have been driving around without insurance?.........
Because the liability for causing an accident IS NOT affected by the insurance status of the victim.……... What if you had caused the accident who would have paid then?
The MIB would and then would rightly be entitled to reclaim the costs from the uninsured driver.0 -
OP - Its your own fault, she might have jumped a red light but you shouldn't have even been on the road.
There's no point trying to deflect blame as you have been caught out without insurance and now you will have to face the consequences.
If you had insurance you wouldn't have a problem would you? As both your and the third parties insurance would of sorted it out.0
