Hasn't everyone had enough of kicking this guy(girl?) when (s)he's down? Ok, Dogma made a mistake and will pay for it big time. (S)he shouldn't have to put up with humiliation from self-righteous people who have obviously never done anything really stupid in their life. Dogma, let us know the outcome in due course, will you please?

    Im a guy.

Whatever the outcome people will still shout abuse. 'you deserved it' or 'its not enough' - so no point

I might pm you if you're really that interested in the outcome. Cheers

It's funny, some threads on here remind me of "Lord of the Flies" quite saddening in many ways.

I hope other potential posters who have erred read this thread and then think twice about posting, I would suggest that although there is some good advice many are just here for the lynching.

    I hope you get banned

I do wonder why you even contemplate driving whilst uninsured, its a legal requirement not an option.

why you even contemplate driving whilst uninsured, its a legal requirement not an option
    - penalty for doing that is only £200 - much less than insurance premium on first place
    - chances are getting caught much less (even with APNR systems, which just checks if the car has any insurance at all)
    - chances of going to jail for this very bleak, even if someone goes, he's unlikely to come out again as jails are so good nowadays (recently stated in a BBC news)
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
  • I think the OP has got the message. It does not need people continually posting and posting "serves you right" messages.

Reading back to the very first message, I think the question being asked was if the woman who jumped the red light, would they be done for doing this and would their insurance have to pay for the damage that they caused.

I don't think I have seen a definitive answer to this. I THINK the answer is, yes they (should!) get done for jumping the light as there appears to be enough witnesses to say she did and NO their insurance wont pay out because you were uninsured.

"The Government is now reviewing the UK insurance system in a renewed effort to clamp down on the number of uncovered drivers. It is expected to report its preliminary findings next March.

The Association of British Insurers estimates that uninsured drivers add £30 to honest motorists' policies. Direct Line predicts this figure will rise to £60 by 2005. (
this has probably gone up )"

now, with the ever increasing cost in living, food/fuel/gas/elec etc etc i feel aggrieved that on top of that i have to pay for other peoples mistakes. sorry op, i know it probably took a lot of courage to write down your post on here but you can't expect us all to condone your actions. You drove a car without insurance , their are thousands who do this and this is costing us (who do have legal cover) money that a lot of us can't afford.

the only person who says there were witnesses is the op ! would you believe a !!!!!! with no insurance

If they are lying and theer are no witnesses then, no, the red light jumper won't get done.

If they are not lying and there are witnesses then hopefully she will be done.

    There is that better?

I know what it is to pay insurance. I was paying £200 a month when i had my car a year ago.
I also pay all my taxes, even when i worked as self-employed i declared every penny!
And im on no benefits whatsoever.
Doing this big mistake i may have given the impression that im a thug when im in fact a very honest guy i've always have been.

No point in writting this thread if i was lying. I wanted to get accurate advice on what to expect and not get simpathy/condemnation. if that was the case I wouldnt even write this thread in the first place
