I'b be interested, they come in through the air brick behind the fire place so i can't block that up.0

I wonder if that's where mine are coming from too. It infuriates me so much0

We have the same problem, have done for years and have never found a solution. We actually dont really know where they are coming in but ours are just in the utility room so its not too bad - just have to be very careful walking around during the night in bare feet!
I just wonder where they go after their night time adventures - do they go back outside again or are they lurking in the house somewhere. Dont like to think about it.
So come on there must be someone out there who has found an answer!0 -
We had more of a problem in our old house but had some in here too. Must have been a gap somewhere: its just a case of finding it and the grid is a good idea.
Our cat eats them too. A couple of times we have found a trail that suddenly ends in the middle of a carpet. One morning a little teeny smattering of slug guts there too confirmed it. Not much we can do about that, but I wouldn't want to harm them. My fil used to pour salt on them, even in front of my girls, whenever he spotted them on his patioIf we come across any, we just pick them up with toilet roll (lots of toilet roll so I don't have to feel their sluggy shape :O ) and put em back outside.
Love and compassion to all x0 -
They can squeeze through any size of hole. Even though doors - cos mine come in through the back door. Honestly! I saw one half in/half out the other night - so I bolied the kettle & got some salt........cruel but it got rid.0

We used to get snails in our kitchen at night, too. Once my DH was walking around the kitchen in his socks in the dark and squished one! Eeww!
Anyway, we discovered that they were coming in through a hole under the kitchen cupboards where a pipe comes in and then through a little hole in the side of the kickboard. We pulled out the kickboard, stuck a few slug pellets in there, sealed up the hole and hey presto, no more slugs. Can you follow the trail to see where they're coming from? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Another alternative, especially on a night when there's not much on tv:I have no signature.0

Hi epskie,
We have an existing thread with lots of advice that may help:
