  • Update - STILL no response from seller and no sign of delivery....guess it will be after the weekend now....... :p
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

I'm thinking that if the seller has selected Special delivery as a postage option, then it will automatically state next day delivery on the postage options displayed by eBay on the listing, the seller has not specifically made this claim themselves.

Plenty of sellers will offer SD, and state in the listing that it will be dispatched same or next day, for delivery the following day, but if this is a noob seller, then I doubt they will have paid that much attention, or even recognised the difference. As others have pointed out, SD or Recorded is required by Paypal for seller protection, as is dispatch within 7 days.

On that basis alone, I would be hesitant to leave a neutral, but would mark the stars down, and even possibly give some constructive advice to the seller afterwards.

However - it is now the 26th, and the seller claims they were posted at 4.30pm on the 24th and they are still not here. I know plenty of PO's do cut off before this time, but all the same, it would have been collected on the 25th at the latest, and should have arrived today. It looks like it will now be Modnay when it lands, and thats when the postage label should be checked to see if it was indeed posted on the 24th, and if so, let the seller know - as they may be able to claim a partial refund !!

As I see it, I would be erring towards a neutral for communication issues if it wasn't actually posted on the 24th. Newbie seller or not, it's not fair on buyers to misinform them.

When an item is sent by Special Delivery, it is issued with a 13 digit tracking number that you can enter into RM Website and it will tell you where in the process the parcel is.

It shows things like Received at PO, In Sorting Office, AT Delivery Office, Left delivery office at 9.12am, and finally a receipt signature is available online (at some point!)

they would need ot pay extra for specific saturday delivery on a saturday, however IME its rare for an SD not to have a delivery attempted if it reaches the DO

regardless of the postage service offered I believe ebay allows sellers 7 days to actually post the item. The Special delivery next day bit only applies once the seller has posted the item. the special delivery can be for several reasons as a seller not necessarily to get it to the buyer quicker. Gives seller trackability and insurance etc.

But as far as ebay are concerned this seller has done fine, posted within 7 days and as long as he has used special delivery then he has fulfilled his contract.

I think it's 7 days for auctions/BINs and 2 days for "Get-It-Fast" and immediate payment BINs
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

No Poo, unfortunately not! TBH i wouldn't mind all the waiting and faff etc etc if the bloomin' seller would just respond! But have decided i will give neutral feedback after transaction (he has already left feedback for me saying "speedy transaction" cheeky git! lol) due to his ignorant attitude ie not responding to 3 messages/requests for tracking number etc

I know he has Probably read my emails as he is on Aol - i stuck him on my "buddy list" (how ironic) and now everytime i am on AOL i am able to see if he is online (lol - how stalker am i pmsl!?!?) and he has pretty much been on every day at some point so has no excuse for not checking email and responding really IMHO ....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Oh well - you live and learn!

Hmmm - have just checked his feedback (only has 12) but looks like everyone else happy with transactions - BUT also noticed that he has sold similar items (ie worth same amount) for considerably more....the trainers i won are RRP £89.99 (apparently) and he sold an identical pair to the ones i won about a week earlier for £14 quid more so maybe he is just not bothered as he feels i have got a good deal already lol??????
AND after some checking seems that the identical pair were sold with shipping of £9.99 but that was for "royal mail 1st class standard postage"...........so i reckon he has put the wrong thing when listing TBH but still.....

Nope, all payment options require the seller to ship within 7 days to have full seller paypal protection, that includes BINs and auctions and special delivery. AS per the rest of the thread get it fast is something entirely different and is chosen when the seller will post next day using special delivery, but that's the only time a posting date is promised.
