oh help - so many people saying different things lol
And seller still hasnt responded grrrr lol

So should i consider a Neutral feedback do u reckon...dont wanna Neg him (i have never neg'd anyone lol...!) but as he has already left me positive feedback i can leave a neutral without too much risk lol......i hate to do it as he is a new seller but i think its just a bit cheeky to imply i will get speedy delivery when it gonna be 5 days!!!!!!!!!!

Here lies the problem with taking paypal.

People expect next day delivery from amatuers flogging tat on ebay.

At least when you could take cheques, you had a few days to get it ready and nobody was on to you on an hourly basis...

    Hi Bigmomma.
I understand where you are coming from and I think I would be a bit miffed if I had to wait so long for an item that I thought was going to be with me "the next day".
I have always thought that when an item is listed as being posted "next day service" it meant that the seller would post it the next day! Obviously I thought wrong.
It's a good job you didn't need the trainers sooner hey? lol
I do also believe that if a seller has problems posting their goods i.e. they work full time and don't live anywhere near a PO, just out of good customer service and common decency, they should post a bit of a disclaimer/explanation on their listing. I've seen it before "I only post on Wednesdays and Saturdays" due to whatever reason. At least then you, as a customer, know where you stand.
I shall remember in future to expect my goods when I receive them.
Hope you're happy with your purchase.

.....erm .........am i goin mad..........you CAN take cheques can; you??!!! And the seller WANTED paypal.......and he has offered and charged for a service that in my opinion he will not be fulfilling if he doesnt send it with the postal service that he charged me for!!!!!!!!!! Sorry if some people dont like that (dave,,,,ahem,,,,,,lol) but everyone is entitled to their opinion eh!

Special delivery was specified to cover the cost of the item and to comply with paypals seller requirements. As long as he posted within 7 days you don't really have a gripe.

so it'd be the same if seller had offered 1st class recorded delivery or 2nd .....i then choose to have the 1st class and when it arrives it turns out seller has sent it 2nd.....thats fair is it???!?!?!?!! hmmmmmm it doesnt seem that some sellers are getting around things with paypal by offering services they wont actually fulfill - if so that IS naughty and they should at least make the buyer aware of what will happen with delivery!!!!!!!! or maybe i am just too trustworthy and have morals which are too strong PMSL :D

That's a bit harsh, Brooker Dave.

Bigmomma has already stated that the seller is relatively new and is obviously agonising about the feedback she will leave. I also think she has been very patient with the seller and hasn't been "on to him on an hourly basis".

I'm sure I and Bigmomma are not alone in, albeit falsley, believing that "next day service" on a listing implies a faster deliver than ordinary standard posting.

Hope your "tat" is worth what you paid for it Bigmomma.

  • >> didnt expect them on them 22nd lol) but having not received them today
    >> (24th) i emailed seller asking when to expect items - he has responded
    >> saying to expect them on Saturday (so the 26th?!)

we can only wish. to be fair, 5 days is pretty good compared to some

as a seller who posts out same day or next day only when it's physically impossible to do same day, having to wait 1, 2, 3... weeks for someone to even bother getting the thing posted, let alone have to wait for the royal mail, is ridiculous. but what can you do?

I reckon that if the seller only gives one postage option of a certain standard and charges the customer that (9.99) then sends the goods by a different cheaper option (sub-standard service), I don't know the actual cost but lets say he pays 4.99 then surely the seller is obtaining money by deception?

I don't know the actual postage prices involved and it may only be a difference of pennies but there is a principle going on here. You can't charge someone for one thing and give them something else.

  • cheers Poo (gosh i feel rude calling you that pmsl!) i am pretty sure that dave probably sells more than he now buys on ebay and i know alot of the sellers arent happy with big shake ups etc on ebay recently but even so, good customer service is important i think and to me this hasnt been an easy and simple transaction....i am not unfair - i have no gripes unlike some buyers on ebay who think postage should be simply that without adding in time spent, petrol, effort, packaging etc etc - i appreciate the sellers effort and i have as i said before, never left Neg OR neutral feedback.....but this seller isnt even responding to emails day after day! If he just emailed a quick note to explain whats going on then i'd have no problem tbh but its the ignoring msgs and the only msg he sent back was very "blunt" (TBH on the verge of rude!).........okay we dont pay for nicities but in a consumer driven market sellers who want to get on well have to make that little bit of effort i think!

Right - off to bed methinks......poor ol' MrBigMomma will just have to go barefoot for a couple more days (i have sold all his other old shoes to a load of kinky weirdo's (no offence!) on Ebay as "well worn" *ahem ahem* ;) - those who saw the old thread about well worn shoes on ebay will understand PMSL)

Pepsi_Max, you are right but what I think Bigmomma is miffed about is the implication that the goods would be with her quicker because the seller is using next day service.

I think we have all learned now that if the seller is using that service it could still mean you could be waiting up to 8 or 9 days for your goods depending when they post it, i.e. on the 7th day.

I don't think the police would take an interest.

(I think you'll find the true reason for using a trackable postage method had already been explained futher up the thread)
