I'm with you on this one too. If I have paid more for special next day delivery I expect to receive that service and get the parcel within 2 days of the auction ending in the evening, and this has always happened when the service has been stated in the P&P for me. So I would mark him down quite heavily on the P&P when you leave feedback. If he can't provide the service he is making you pay for and get to a PO easily the next day, he shouldn't be stating it in his listing in the first place. I would wager he wouldn't be happy if a seller took the same attitude on something he had just bought.

the seller has 7 days to post
special delivery next day means you should receive it the next working day after it has been posted. it does not mean you will get them the day after paying.
you have no reason to leave neutral or negative or poor DSR score unless the seller has not posted within 7 days or has not sent them by special delivery0 -

for goodness sakes - i have SAID i know that item will not be received the next day - but that the seller said he posted TODAY (Thursday) but that i should expect it SATURDAY - is that next day delivery, i think not!?? Unless Fridays have offically been declared non-existant in the UK then no!!! I dont mind people expressing their opinions (its great that so many have taken the time to read and answer!) but i do get a bit peeved when people imply i am being unfair when i have not actually said what i am being accused of saying lol.......grrrrrrrrr - read through all the posts lol!Baldrick, does it have to be this way? I'd neg him, if someone offered next day delivery I'd want it next day. simple.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0

Crikey.
You're talking about the difference between despatch time and delivery time. If the seller doesn't say they'll despatch same day, you can't realistically expect it next day, and you sure as hell can't guarantee they'll even despatch before a week has passed if they didn't state they would.
Get It Fast is different. It doesn't sound like they showed Get It Fast. If they did, you'd have a better idea of when it was gonna get posted.
There is a cut off time for SD, obviously dependant on the PO in question. Just because it made it to the PO that day, it doesn't mean they hit the deadline. To clarify... if you get to the PO too late, there's no chance of it arriving next day, because the SD colleciton has already gone. That's assuming they sent it SD.
Either way... there's no reason to be negging anyone... yet.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
We get this question on occasions and it pays to check the auction terms. If special delivery next day delivery is offerd it just means that item will be sent within the normal 7 days allowed for by paypal and when it is sent it will be sent using special delivery. Likewise 1st class means 1st class and posted within 7 days..etc.
If however the auction stated 'get it fast' then there is a guarantee that item will be shipped within 24 hours using special delivery. However a seller has to actually tick that confirmation when listing knowing that they can physically comply with that requirement.
Whenever I sell anything over £36 I obviously show special delivery as my only postage option, but I prefer to wait a day maybe 2 before I post just in case of changes of mind or stroppy buyers that I have come across on high ticket sales. Cheap stuff I tend to send same or next day.
Also if you leave less than perfect feedback for the seller expect some back in return. A neg or rneutral on a buying account for being inpatient will reflect badly on you and with the new feedback rules coming in soon might be enough for some future seller to remove your bids. Many of us will be looking for buyers that have left negs and neutrals in the past for non legitimate reasons and might not want to risk the same when we cannot leave one back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Actually ........ in my PO, once our cut off for SD's has happened at 12.30 on Thursdays then its either Sat or Mon guaranteed . Saturday incurs an extra 2 pound charge.
There is no 'expecting' with SD, you are told when it will be delivered at the time you purchase it.0 -
Why don't you just ask him for the tracking number and you will be able to tell when and how he posted it. SD would show we have received your item RD would show come back later.0
