Mine say updated 20th Dec but the update didnt come on OTA until early 2008

You could have updated firmware from Humax direct before hand though if you wanted too

I think I'm about to take the plunge. Have been a sky+ viewer for 4 years now on the full sports package.

Need to cut down as we are moving house in a couple of weeks which is costing me a small fortune !

Anyway have cancelled the sports package and am just paying the £10 charge for sky+.

For some strange reason our sellers are taking their sky dish with them but as we are moving to a freeview area I've decided to ditch sky for good and go down the PVR route. Humax has had some excellent reviews but is there a lot of difference between Humax and Topfield?

the Humax works out of the box and is well regarded as being one of the best in it's field, the Topfield works out of the box but to get the best out of it requires you to customise it with extra programs(TAPs) but then it outshines teh Humax. Also costs a bit more. If you are prepared to put some effort into it all then the Topfield is probably best, if you prefer something that works out of the box an/or are a semi-technophobe then get a Humax

I've had the Humax for over a year and only recently discovered it has series link capability!! (software updated, but I had the recording option set to start and finish 3 mins before and after the programme, which makes the series linking not work - would have been nice for Humax to inform on-screen that new software was downloaded and what features were now available. It was only by chance that I stumbled across it whist browsing some forums)

Despite that, it really is the Rolls-Royce of PVRs. A fantastic purchase.:T

Well we moved last week and the sellers had left their dish after all

But I'm glad they said they were taking it otherwise I would have just transferred sky to our new house.

Have to say the Humax is superb :T

I've just bought a new black Humax 9200 but there doesn't seem to be a series link. I get the same programme in a list then have to tick each one , is there a simpler way?

Also to get HD would mean buying an HD Freeview/sat box and I'm sure they will come down in price

I assume you wish to record a whole series?

Select guide on remote, this brings up a program guide (surprisingly enough), before program is due to start move to required program using arrow keys surrounding OK button, on selected program press OK, a prompt appears ' record one episode or whole series, select whole series. Humax will now record all episodes in selected series. Lond winded - hope it helps

    Hi Kerry,
I have just followed your clear detailed instructions word for word and when I slected a programme and pressed OK there was no prompt...just a little red box with a 1(?) on it.
    Any ideas?

    Many thanks for your help,

    D.

Sounds like your Humax still has the old firmware on it. Just upgrade it. Think the option is in the installation menu somewhere.
