With the exception of the last line, I think that this post is very harsh. icon9.gif What qualifies you to diagnose aproblems from what you have read of someone's posts on the internet?

Maybe you have a point here Haribo in that in some sense I dont know the op. But what i do know is what she posted and as an intelligent woman with some psychological background, it is quite clear to me that the op has issues far more serious than her food budget. I am not being harsh. I as a fellow human being who is very kind and caring and always puts everyone else first genuinely feel for the op and her obviously awful and problematic life and to be honest I am pointing this out in the hope that the op gets the help she needs.

As for your comments about death, I can't really add to that as I have not suffered any bereavement personally so really cannot comment on how easy it is.

Obviously I have unwittingly offended you by the fact that I care. I will try not to in future.

You haven't offended me in the slightest. My concern was that your post seemed harsh. If I believed that a poster on here was pschologically troubled, I might slip them a discreet pm (though I doubt it) but I wouldn't post it on the thread unless they were asking specifically for advice on the subject. As it is leiela has asked for advice on her food shopping so I don't see your points as relevant or necessary.

But, like I say, I assure you, I am not in the least bit offended. ;)

I have read many of the ops posts and TBH it doesnt make sense. First she's spending too much then within weeks she's teaching everyone how to suck eggs because she can manage a high protein diet on £50 (and could do less if she had to) Then she has no money and needs to find food to feed her children. Now she spends £150 a week.

She says she's a professional dancer (and needs a high protein diet) then says she hasn't enough hours in the day to make lunches and do housework because she works in IT and out of the house from 7am to 7pm. No mention of when she fits in dancing. Then there's the numerous gardening threads and the problems with the children.

This op just doesn't add up and I would agree that she does have mental health issues and I sincerely hope she will seek and get the professional help she needs to sort her problems out.
    :)

Reverbe, I see that you have posted elsewhere that I have been nasty to you. I am unsure how you have reached this conclusion but clearly you believe it so I won't bother asking for the post in question to be pointed out.

I will leave the amateur psychology to others as I am in no way qualified to judge anyone's mental health on here.

And if you do return to the thread leiela.... Good luck. x

Wow thanks alot for the insight into my mental health guys... just what i was looking for.

Yes i have a high protien diet so although im sure my diet isn't concidered classic or normal. However the specialist who deals with my hormonal issues recommended i "clean up" my diet as processed foods has a proven negative effect on hormone levels and rather than tell me to just clean it up she refered me to a nutritionist as she felt my dancing placed an un-usual strain on my body and wasn't sure she could offer specialised enough help. The nutritionist works WITH the personal trainer to balance my body's physical needs with my medical needs.

Having been doing this for well over 12 months, im currently the healthiest i've EVER been both mentaly and physically... having been on heavy medication and hormone suppliments since i was 15, i've gone to being on NONE, holding down a full time job and for the first time since having my kids im actually stable enough to BE a mother.

So thanks for the suggestions that i get help!! ... i've got help thankyou very much and im doing fine. Well accept for struggling financially because of debts built up when i was LESS well.

Ever heared the saying "if you havn't got anything nice to say don't say anything at all" i really wish some of you would exercise it... i asked for help if you have nothing useful to add then don't add anything at all, because i really don't belive i asked for a mental evaluation.

I personaly didn't make any judgements on your mental health. However, i'm not sure what you expect us to help with if you're not willing to change your diet? We can't make the shops put their prices down...

I'm not sure what we can do other than suggest a meal plan, but that won't be suitable for you or your husband.

Maybe you could clarify what it is you are asking for, please  People genuinely want to help, but we need some pointers as to what you're asking for.

I didn't make any comments on your mental health either. For what it was worth I posted an opinion - mine - on how I thought you could make it all work. I said nothing different that I wouldn't have said to a friend or neighbour asking me the same question.

Please don't make sweeping statements and lump everyone in together.

Oh my goodness! I just read on that other thread that you and your hubby go through around 15 chicken breasts per DAY!

Well, i personally don't think you'd be able to get your bill any lower than it already is.

In fact, i can't see how you can even buy 105 chicken breasts per week, plus the £20 of supplements you take per DAY, and feed both your children, and yourselves, for £50 per week?!

    Hi,
I have to agree that food prices have shot up in recent months a heck of a lot, most noticeably with meat (2 chicken breasts at Waitrose now costs the same as 4 did before Xmas) and I am wondering if you might be able to adjust your diet to include more vegetarian meals? It might be worth discussing with your doctor/nutritionist but you should be able to keep the right balance and save money. I get the impression from other posts that you are into bodybuilding/fitness? This guy is veggie too and he certainly looks like his diet isn't lacking in anything! http://www.vegetarianbodybuilder.com/index2.html
    Good luck! :D

Suppliments don't come out of the food budget, and tbh i've stopped all suppliments other than protien powder for the time bieng as i can no-longer afford them.

I did find my "trainer" online but my nutritionist works with her.... ugh it's all abit confusing...

My doctor refered me to a nutritionist though i'll grant you i didn't take the advice she gave too seriously as tbh i didn't think a nutritionist could honestly help.

Years later, i got my trainer while i was still sort of halfheartedly in contact with the nutritionist (though to be fair not taking much of her advice) when i started following the "trainers" advice on food/nutrition (with the mind to lose weight) and had wonderful results both mentally and physically.

At my next check up at the nutritionist i told her how i was doing, and said i was doing great etc ... but as it happens her reccomondations mostly revolve around "eating unprocessed food" so much of what i was doing with the new trainer was what she's been telling me to do to help with the hormones.

However the NHS nutritionist was was happy for me to continuing following the advice of the trainer despite the high protien intake as it follows the princibles she's tried to impliment with me.

However bettween the 2 of them i have managed to find a balance which works. I guess technically i have "2 nutritionists" but i rarely see the one refered by the doctor, once every 6 months for a "how are you doing chat" sometimes she tells me to Cut XYZ out, and i pass that information on to my online trainer/nutritionist, who is a total star and try's a impliment it as much as possible.

As it happens i have seriously cut the amount of protien me and my hubby are eating as that isn't technically going to help the hormone thing in an effort to cut money, but it's still abit higher than normal.

I wasn't really hoping for people to solve my problems i was just having abit of a moan about food prices and the way they are going up. I guess the food price increase is more noticable for me because of the amount of meat i eat, when the price of chicken go's up a few pence, that amounts to alot at the end of the month when you eat alot of chicken.
