To be honest with you, i'm not sure why your food bill has gone up £150 per month. Only you can answer that, but i'm pretty sure it can't all be down to price rises in the last 2 months.

My bill has hardly changed in the last couple of months.. maybe a few pence, but nothing drastic.

The problem with having such a strict regime is that you can't really adapt your meal plans to suit what's in season (hence cheaper), so i'm really at a loss as to what you can do to bring your bill down :o

I know you say your priority is to keep this regime, but in all honesty i wish i had the LUXURY of choosing to have a regime to stick to. My priority is to pay the bills and keep a roof over our heads.

I think that as long as you have the choice to keep your regime (which if i remember correctly includes 300g of pure protein per day for you and hubby?) then you shouldn't really have to worry about money (i know i couldn't afford to feed us that much protein!).

Sorry but having read your other threads how can becoming a body builder and the resultant diet be a serious suggestion by a doctor to help anyone cope with life better.

A healthy diet yes, I'd say any doctor will suggest this to help all their patients but I certainly wouldn't say that a body builder's diet is the healthiest of diets and nor would I think it specifically makes anyone a good mother

However, I'm not sure what your question is here, yes food prices are going up but is this a discussion topic or are you asking for help to fill your new freezer?

Seriously i can't begin to discribe the fear i have that maybe foodprices will rise to such a level i can no-longer afford to keep my way of life, im terrified of slipping back to where i was.

How could you slip back to where you were if you were spending even more money then? I don't understand. You are saying you have got your food bill down from £700 per month to £280 and as a result have been eating alot better.Like us all you are worried about prices going up but why would that mean you would return to spending MORE money on a poorer diet?

I have seen a few threads by you worrying about food prices so I hope you don't mind but I had a little look. icon7.gif
On this thread you said you had your budget down to £50 per week, still eating your high protein diet. £50 per week is alot less than I spend on groceries :o so I think you are worrying a little too much that you are spending too much by following a bodybuilder's diet. Frankly I think it's amazing that you can follow this diet at such a low cost so maybe you shouldn't be so hard on yourself.;)

One other point. You state that you feel so much better now that you're not a "walking medicine cabinet" but surely taking lots of supplements isn't much better and nor can that be good for the budget.

I spend a small fortune on suppliments to help me get competition fit.. with 12 weeks till walking on stage EVERY little bit helps, but even with £20 worth of supp's floating around my body a day.. 1 cream cake would wipe out all the good they do.
    .

We all have to absorb the price hikes I'm afraid, either by putting more money in the pot or bulking out what we have with all the tricks we read about on here though as this usually involves using lots of carbs, I'm not sure how you will be able to do this.

Beki to be fair things seem to cost more and more these days every time you go into shops. For example in our local Mr T last week the green tea with superfruits I bought normally at 64p was now 81p and now loose single peppers have gone from 58p to 72p. Value tortilla chips from 18p to 25p. Even the staff there agree with me that those are massive rises and as they say their pay stays the same.

Agreed. I mean body builders have a massive protein intake and that alone rings warning bells.

Haribo with the greatest respect to you and the op, I think a change of diet is not gonna be a magic change. I feel the need for serious counselling or prefessional evaluation here. Having read just the first few paragraphs of the ops original explanatory post I dont think just eating more chicken for example would solve such deep and serious problems. This op seems to have serious problems both psychologically and with pms.(which personally can be partly psychosomatic. I have know women who change their outlook form dreading their periods to accepting it as part of nature and they have found their pms to deramatically improve). Also she seems to have beliefs re food and eating that I personally would consider a concern.

With love and care I really do hope the OP gets some help for her issues.

i know what you mean... but it is possible to buy alternatives wherever possible...

plus, to be honest i don't have much sympathy with leiela, as she seemed quite happy to rip in to other people's meal plans not so long ago... so not quite sure what advise she's after if she's not willing to change her diet

Ah, that explains that it wasn't the doctor as said in this thread rather a personal trainer/nutritionist although I would wonder if any personal trainer is qualified as a) a personal trainer and more importantly b) a nutritionist
