I got handed a voucher for a free pint of their 1% fat milk (ask at customers services for a voucher if you don't get given one, its valid till the end of the month. Out of noseyness I decided to see how much stork was compared to Tesco (I use it in baking), 500g 50p. I think last time I looked in Tesco it was 88p. I also got 1kg of long grain rice for 43p, compared to 89p in Tesco (and that was Value pack!). Worth a look if you have a Sainsbury's near by.
I was at Sainsburys last night unixgirluk, and athough I shop there mostly and now buying more basics ranges I noticed last night that packs of 12 catfood up 50p and their basics filter coffee (very good) from 79p up to £1.07  .
Guess who is going to watch more carefully now. I guess they are no worse than the others though and I love their own veggie stuff.0 -
I think you're right Juliettet, they're all basically the same but if I have the chance of a nosey another a supermarket I don't usually go to then I'm going to take it and see where I can save a few pennies.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I like that too unixgirluk although I am too in Central Scotland and it seems there are so many huge superstores I quite like a smaller store. Wouldn't it be nice to have a store selling all the offers!0

yes it would but unfortunately i can't see it happening. The big supermarkets pull us in with the offer that are their loss leaders and try and tempt us to buy other things that aren't necessarily as cheap. I dread taking my partner's youngest to shops even though she's a teenager as she's buys into all the marketing hype.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I have Tesco, Sainsbury, Aldi and Asda within reach - no petrol costs because I use the bus and it all comes from my monthly bus pass. I decide what I need to buy each week and then look at http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk
to compare the prices. For the things that I buy, Sainsbury's generally comes out cheaper. I print out the shopping list - with prices, and take that with me to Aldi - which isn't included in the website - and check that they are not selling it any cheaper. It also gives me a reference for prices for pulses etc from the ethnic supermarkets.
This isn't foolproof but it does give me an indication of who is charging what this week. If something I want has gone up across the board then I try and change menus although when it is something as basic as bread flour it is not so easy.:oTrue wealth lies in contentment - not cash. we stopped drinking fresh milk a month ago, i swapped firstly to tesco semi skimmed uht, but found it too creamy, so then swapped to tesco value skimmed uht. yesterday i noticed it had gone up from 44p a ltr to 49p!! i buy 16 of these a week for me and 4 kids so thats another 80p increase on my weekly bill without anything else going up.November NSD's - 70

I haven't really kept track of price rises, but was shocked to see iceberg lettuce at 99p in tesco yesterday. I'm sure it was a lot cheaper than that recently! No wonder I am a whoopsie aisle lurker lol.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0
