    You aren't the only one.

I walk past couples in Broadmead holding hands and start thinking I must be the only bloke in Bristol who isn't loved up. Every conversation I seem to have seems to contain the other person saying "I'm off to so-and-so with my bloke / missus" ( delete where applicable ) and again that lonely feeling hits again.

It's only been in the last two years or so that I've resigned myself to being alone. It was then that I met my last g/f and although that ended in the autumn of last year, it showed that where there's life, there's hope. Now, I'm really not bothered if I meet someone or not and that is the main ingredient IMO for someone to come along and whisk me off my feet ( they'll need strong arms, mind).

The one consolation for you, Lucy, is that you're still young and pretty. If you're still single and lonely when you're old, gnarled and forty* you may have problems....

    * - that may, or may not, refer to a man currently posting on this thread.

There is nothing wrong with being 40!! (and I wouldn't say gnarled or old actually!)

Actually my cousin has just got married for the first time and she is 38... We had all given up hope though

I'm ok on my own, but sometimes miss having at level of company. As for people having displays of affection in public  Don't they realise that there are single people out there they are stomping all over!!

  • So it's okay for a newbie to stick her nose into this thread??
I'm intrigued by the mentions of plentyoffish (or whatever it's called) - is it generally recommended? I'm a member of faceparty but I'm pretty dubious about the type of people on there and never remember to log-in!!

    Of course it's ok!!!

I had a look at plenty of fish, but was to scared to do anything with it!!! Some people seems to recomend it though.

As for the type of people I think it's a bit hit and miss. Apparently there have been some 'interesting' suggestions!!!

Hellooooo everyone, can I join too?

I'm newly single, not really looking for another relationship but it's nice to chat to other singletons cos all my mates seem to be coupled up.
Who says I have to be normal? :p

  • Can someone help me with my feelings today. I spent the night with my guy on sunday at my house and it was wonderful. I like him and want to make a go of it, the thing is he is saying he loves me, sends me lovely text messages saying he will care for me always etc. Now it makes me cry when he does that but sometimes I feel it may be too much too soon? He did ask whether he was coming on too strong and I told him not to worry as I thought it was me who was worried. My best mate has said to take it slow and my friend from work has said do not trust him yet.

I am not as excited as I was the other day, I'm getting a little scared because I might not be able to give him the love he needs. I mean its early days and I see him tomorrow night and he is taking me out for tea and then back to his caravan for a drink etc then I will drive home to bury. On friday I go back to see my friend leave work (the same workplace I left) and then afterwards I am off up to see my best mate for the weekend in Newcastle. So I will not see him till next week.

Why do I feel unsure? He has made me feel a complete woman which makes me happy.

    Please help?
