hi Chip - I've had a look around and have been amazed by some of the stories on here of people's day to day lives. Everyone is just so different, but there is always someone else who can help!Pay off a Debt by Christmas 2008 Challenge: £1500 overdraftTotal paid off: £235Comping: July wins: The Who tribute band tickets (£24), MP3 download, Man Utd DVD (£17), Life's too F'ing short book (£13)0

I've been on a number of forums over the years (some more than others *ahem*) and this is easily the most broad and helpful.
Hope you enjoy the thread and also the broader community."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
cheers Riq.
It's hard to meet new people when you are quite shy. I've been on forums for various interests over the years and using ebay and what have you but I'm a bit of a wallflower when it comes to being 'out there'!!!!!
I might go and have a look at the gardening threads on this site. I hate gardening but I dream of having someone magically transform mine!Pay off a Debt by Christmas 2008 Challenge: £1500 overdraftTotal paid off: £235Comping: July wins: The Who tribute band tickets (£24), MP3 download, Man Utd DVD (£17), Life's too F'ing short book (£13)0 -
Yeah, although my post count says otherwise I am a shy guy in real life, so I know what you mean.
Good luck looking for your gardening fairy then!
I find the hardest thing is actually going somewhere though, my friends are either taken or don't live near me so it's difficult to arrange to go out and if no one is available then there is no chance to go out and meet people."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"

A knight in armour on a white charger?
Would you settle for a bit of rusty chain mail and a ride on a donkey at Morecambe?0 -

Do you know what the donkeys at Morecambe get for lunch?
Half an hour if they're lucky...:rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone, well what a day yesterday. I took my car down to knutsford to have a new convertible roof fitted.
I had also been chatting to a lovely american guy on the plentyoffish site for over a week or so. And last night I met him for the first time. We went for a late meal and had a drink and I think we each have met our soul mate. Everything was so romantic and we talked and I have never ever had this feeling before in my life. I felt really sad as I was leaving to drive home from croston to bury. He is coming down tonight to watch a dvd with me and cuddle up. I put a post on the moneysavers arms about kissing the other day and my god he is the perfect gentle kisser and very patient.
I am so happy!:happyhearMortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -

I'll brush off my hat!!! But no laughing at how bad I look in it!!
Quiet weekend for me so far, had a nice wander around Lacock yesterday, but have been pretty much rained off so far. Bank holiday weather I tell you
Welcome aboard Garnett!! The more the merrier. I think you are right it is hard when you are a little bit more shy and struggle to talk to strangers! (isn't the internet liberating!!)Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Morning all.
Well it's another wet and horrible day in Wiltshire and I managed to upset myself last night. I was looking at some pictures of a friends Hen party and I made myself throughly miserable!! Not because she is getting married surprisingly, but because she looked so happy. And I feel like I am missing that.
So I now feel all pathetic and slightly shocked that I feel like this.... Although I think that may be guilt as she has every right to be happy
Although I wish someone would look at me the way her partner looks at her (something like this covers it :happyhear) :rolleyes:Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
You aren't the only one.
I walk past couples in Broadmead holding hands and start thinking I must be the only bloke in Bristol who isn't loved up. Every conversation I seem to have seems to contain the other person saying "I'm off to so-and-so with my bloke / missus" ( delete where applicable ) and again that lonely feeling hits again.
It's only been in the last two years or so that I've resigned myself to being alone. It was then that I met my last g/f and although that ended in the autumn of last year, it showed that where there's life, there's hope. Now, I'm really not bothered if I meet someone or not and that is the main ingredient IMO for someone to come along and whisk me off my feet ( they'll need strong arms, mind).
The one consolation for you, Lucy, is that you're still young and pretty. If you're still single and lonely when you're old, gnarled and forty* you may have problems....
* - that may, or may not, refer to a man currently posting on this thread.:rolleyes:0
