DON'T dry it straight after the wash!
Give it a good look over first to see if there is still a stain. If you dry it with the stain still present you could risk setting it in there for good.
If it is still stained, put it in a bucket/bowl of cold water and get back to us.

Help! I have got a box in the boot of my car that keeps a stock of some car essentials such as the screen wash, de-icer, engine oil, basic pressure pump as well as a fairly decent pair of wellies.
Well, a few months I had to top up the oil an although it was put back in the box in a poly bag, the lid wasn't on right and you guessed it - it leaked. have managed to get most things in the box pretty much oil free but am struggling with the wellies. Not worried too much about the outside but there is some that has gone into the inside.
Any ideas on how to get the oil (or most of it) off my wellies?!?

Oh dear...
I can think of a few things, but I'm sure someone else will be along soon.
I'd start with sugar soap solution and a pan scrubber
If that fails, try nail varnish remover. A soak in strong biological washing powder solution may also help. Mineral oil is a sod I'm afraid.
Final option (tricky, but greener, possibly) is to pressure wash them, it gets the oil out of my drive, it could work on your wellies

Thanks for that! I'll give them a go.....

my OH has engine oil on his last pair of decent jeans, which he seems compelled to wear when working on the car.
Any ideas for stain removal?

I know my GF has used stain devil on my jeans when I got sprayed with engine oil after a canister burst.
Also tell him to get some bargain jeans from somewhere like Tesco for a few quid and wear them if he wants to be a denim mechanic:pDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
you could try putting paper on it and ironing so the paper soaks up the oil. Could take a while though.0
