Just out of interest Martin, did you get the chewing gum off your shoes? If you did, which 'remedy' was the most successful?

  • Hi there

Just to let you know for future reference, in case you do anything as stupid as I do......

I recently got chewing gum stuck on my favourite prettiest expensivest bra (I don't know how.....I think a piece of chewing gum went through the wash with it)

I was gutted at this so I put the bra in the freezer to loosen off any big chunks of gum (to my flatmates amusement) but this still didn't shift it as it was getting stuck in the lace.... I then tried rubbing OLIVE OIL! in and it worked an absolute treat loosening off all the gum....

I just thought that I'd recommend it, as once you've reput it through the wash (minus the gum) you get a super clean gum free garment :T

Apparently vinegar will also get chewing gum out of fabrics by dissolving it! :T

I recently found a great site ... The world's longest list of uses for vinegar
... with a million different uses for vinegar - personal as well as household!

It also advises ... Always use apple cider vinegar for personal care. White vinegar is best for cleaning.

Maybe one for the Mega index Squeaky! ;)
