I need one of those for my lever arch files which keep falling over. What is Homes and Bargains?
Easy option to explain : http://www.tjmorris.co.uk/ :rotfl::rotfl: They originated near where I live so I've just grown up with shopping there :rotfl: It actually comes with 4 magazine holders in it but I guess you could use it to put lever arch folders in if you wanted. I bought it cause I'm sick of moving piles of paper around on the desk or having stacks of stuff in my "deal with now" tray which isn't actually needing to be dealt with but doesn't have any other home. :rotfl::rotfl:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
So much for going to bed at 9pm ... but my desk is looking very clear if you ignore the letter rack and stack of papers to be shredded. I've also signed into OU for the first time as an official student, and joined the Facebook network as well :rotfl:
Tomorrow I'm going shopping for some smart clothes, then I'm going to try and rejig stuff so I have a home for all these files!:rotfl::rotfl:
Oh and I also wanted to say while I remember (kept forgetting to post this all day as time kept running away with me!)
Last week I ranted about my ex and it was, somewhat, uncalled for as I was suffering from major PMT (I'm trying to find stuff to ease it, already on Evening primrose & Vit B complex!) and stress. So I want to take this opportunity to apologise to my ex who may or may not be reading this. Yes I am angry at you, and I do to some extent mean what I said last week, but not all of it. I'm trying. I was a little hasty in my opinion about him, but I do still think he's a blind, deaf, lying, cowardly, cheating pain in the rear! But aren't all men at some point in their lives
EX - I'm sorry and I know I can be a b!tch. I'm trying not to be.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Many thanks for belated birthday wishes. Yet more flowers today. The house looks like a florists shop!
Tracey - poor you! Hope no one is too badly bumped! I have to admit to a little chuckle though, it could have been used as a script for My Family! :rotfl:Especially when you add in Mudbath and the wine bottles.
Hev - big hugs. It's awful when you know something like that is coming. I hate it and really feel for you. I keep promising myself no more pets but it doesn't work. Also hugs re: MIL. My Mum's first anniversary is 11th May.
Re: Grocery challenge - I find I definitely spend less if I use "mysupermarket.com" and do my shopping on line. I know it's usually £5 delivery but if it saves you spending on unnecessaries, it's worth it.
Just got a super "thing" on Freecycle! Left this while we nipped over to Newport to collect. DS is very keen on science, astronomy etc and we've just got an astronomical telescope for him. A similar one costs nearly £500! It was a lovely mature couple and DS stood talking to the man for a while about how it works. He's really pleased. BTW if anyone was close enough, or able/willing to travel, I have DD's Superking mattress to "Freecycle". It's about 18 months old, but for the last 12 it's been under our mattress (the only dry place we could fit it).
Someone has also posted a "small amount of block flooring - enough for small hall" which would be just right for my hall, if I'm lucky.
Tracy - you'll like this. About 2 hours after the event, I'm in BMH Rinteln, telephone my mother in England and say "Hello, Granny." (DH has already called to let her know DD has arrived) She says "Who's that?"Then freaked out because I was up and about using the phone and she was from the era where you stayed in bed for a week!
Tia - wise decision. The right house will be there at the right time for you. The Pink Fairy is sending fairy dust to make it so!
Hi Ash, nice to see you.
I give up now coz the Thanks button won't work! I'm going to bed and will do a catch up list tomorrow.
And for those of you wondering how full timers keep up, it's coz we don't go to bed when we should!DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Pigpen, i am so gutted for you. How the hell do kids slip through the net when they have a mum like you beating the doors down to get answers. If it helps my mum cleans for a lady whos granddaughter had aspergers dyspraxia and dyslexia. She has been prescribed Omega 3 but triple the amount i would give to my children, a difference has been noted in her when she isn't taking it, she also took part in the Dore program which they say did nothing at all of the aspergers side but helped tremendoulsy with the dyspraxia and dyslexia. Big big hugs for you (((()))))
SSL Fabulous news on the bungalow:beer: , also very funny almot everything is labelled in this house too. I have a set of drawers for the kids school items labelled with there names, i have shoe storage all labelled, bathroom drawer labelled for what goes in, Kids bedroom drawers labelled you get the idea

does your oh work away a lot jill - which part of the states is he in ?xx
not that often really. This is his second week long trip this year though he's done a fair few 2 or 3 days jobs in Europe. He's currently in Detriot (not v nice!). He has his own software business, he and 2 other chaps from work (we all worked together) left a few years ago - DD was 4 weeks old when he handed in his notice at work  . We had a couple of immensely stressful years with DD being teeny tiny, DS still being fairly teeny too, maternity leave, no money, no life as he worked every weekend all weekend and every evening til about 2 in the morning. My work (where he worked) threatened legal action for something he hadn't done, lots of nasty solicitor's letters arriving saying they would close us down etc meanwhile I still had to go into the office, it was awful. I rmember one night sitting at the table the pair of us crying saying why couldnt they just let him try and pay the mortgage, we didnt want to rule the world, just to earn his own money and live comfrtably, we were never in competition with the compnay he worked for.
Its finally paying off and going very well and as well as the 3 of them they have 2 paid employees as well. The week long trips are for tradeshows, they man a booth all week and try and get leads which they then follow up back at the office. Their software is quite specialised and one license costs from £3k to £15k. Sounds like we should be millionaires but they have to spend months courting clients before they commit to buying so they don;t flog dozens a day or anything. Their software is used to test massive conveyor belt systems on a computer instead of actually bulding it for real just for testing. If the people at Terminal 5 had used DH's stuff to test the baggage handling they would have seen the problems in test and amended the system accordingly before building it for real.
Anyway when he does a US tradeshow it sucks because he has to travel on a Saturday, set up the stand on the Sunday, the tradeshow is typically 4 days, they then spend Friday and sometimes Saturday mornings too in meetings with with existing and or new customers and then fly back on Saturday arriving back Sunday afternoon. Then he is jetlagged and useless. So these trips usually knock out 2 weekends as well. This time,. because I've been struggling with life in general, he is coming back as soon as the tradeshow is over and will arrive back on Friday :T He's been very good about it.
I'm very very proud of him, he has worked bl00dy hard over the last 4 years to get this company to where it is now, he has given it everything and although he has faltered occasionally he has stuck with it and made it the success it is turning out to be

OMG I am sooooooo tired!!!! I've spent the last two hours shreding and filing and shreding some more and filing some more. I can now find any piece of paper / course / diary / accounts for the last 11 years of running my business. Everything I have to keep is filed really clearly and everything else is gone. Another two bags of shredded paper. Another two crates of stuff to go straight in the recyling bin. By the time DH comes home on Friday there will not be one piece of paper in this house that isn't filed.
I am shattered. It is incredibly sad at how excited I am about the filing cabinet now:rotfl: .
I think I must be working in sync with you. I received my 10 box files and 50 card wallets in the post yesterday as I had run out of filing space last week. I have not quite completed filing all our paperwork from the last 10 years but should be done by the end of the week. DH seems to think I have gone barking mad, so do kids who if they lose anything now are told to look in the crates for folders with their names on to find items that have been left lying around.:rotfl:
I bought some really useful boxes that are mouse proof (I hope) so that I can fill them with box files and wallets and put as much as possible away in the loft. I think we have to keep everything for 7 years. DH being self employed has made so much extra work. All my paper work was unfiled from June 2003 when I first became ill.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Well bathroom sparkles again... dining room not quite so sparkly... but I can sort that and the kitchen later. TV set up which was a lot of faffing around and probably the reason DR not finished yet
The paint has been delayed  so the indoors will be getting my full attention for the next 8 days... Just as well I have as many tasks for indoors as I do for outside *groans* I will get there... I will... might not be before the summer hols :rotfl:
Off to write a really long list for tomorrow since all the little people are at school
