Phew - just managed to catch up on the thread - what? You mean I'm supposed to do catch up on the flying as well?? Oh, well, I'll have to skip sleeping tonight then!
Two days work, and yesterday was all French, mostly Year 11 exam preparation, loved it.Feel a bit sorry for them, as their teacher has had a family bereavement, and has not been able to leave work. But quite lucky for them that it's my subject, and DD is doing the same course, so I know what they'll need to know for the week after next.
I'm falling asleep now, as I was up at 5am, to see off DS2 on school trip to Normandy. He's back on Saturday.I know he'll love it, as it's French and History, both subjects he likes. Last trip the head will be going on, I think. I really, really hope that the visits continue, because I think they're massively valuable for the children. The school have a scheme where we pay £15 a month throughout the five years, and that covers all the trips they go on - daytrip to France, German exchange, adventure week in Dorset, Normandy, all the GCSE coursework trips - not the ski trip and the Big Trip though. No sudden surprises about having to pay out.
I am hardly on speaking terms with DS1 today (when I stopped shouting at him, that is...) - he has coursework to finish, deadline tomorrow, and he's not done any work at all today. He took his practical project in, then came home and lazed around all day. I am absolutely livid. I shall not be garden working tomorrow, so that I can stand over him and be really horrible until he's finished it, then I shall escort him into school to hand it in. Then I shall phone his teacher to check he's got it. There's no way he's throwing away his chance of a grade because he can't be bothered. I love him lots, but my word he's a pain.
dusty - not nice enough to garden here today, grey, foggy and then rain. The dahlia is one of Christopher Lloyd's favourites I think - very bright. I like diascia too, and epimediums. Is DD okay?
ssl - brilliant news about the bungalow!!
pink fairy - belated happy birthday wishes for yesterday.
pigpen - That is not great news about your DS. Why on earth did they not pick that up much, much earlier?? But I would take all the therapy going. I have seen really good results on stroke patients with long term physio, and they do repath to a certain extent, even when they are very much older. I know that is not the same thing, as actual damage is involved, but there should be some similarities. We have a family history of dyslexia/dyspraxia, and there is a certain element of 'growing out of it'. although that really means that they develop strategies for coping with it.
Someone was asking about disappearing flyladies - forgot to note down who. I'm in touch with sexymouse from time to time. She's working fulltime in a lovely primary school, and really hoping that she gets one of the permanent jobs going there. She says that she sometimes pops into the thread, but is usually too snowed under with work to keep up, but has sent a wave :hello:
I've noticed that several teachers are here during the holidays, then vanish in term time! I don't know how you full time employed flyladies manage to keep up - I can't when I'm working.
Cup of tea and bed I think. I'll catch up on flying tomorrow - I did actually get the bedlinen washed today, and always open the windows to air every morning, so two things done!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
:hello: Hi everyone.
Been to work today so no flying done here and Im too tired to do any now. Although did do a S&S before going to work this morning.
Hugs for everyone who needs one.
(((((Hev))))
Pigpen Hope you are feeling better.

No I don't but I want one and I want one now!!! I've just googled it and I'd lovvvveeeeeeeeee one!:rotfl:0 -
On that note.. Larger ladies/those with calves like.. calves!!.. (bottom of legs type not mooing).. a personal question.. how short do you wear your skirts... I resemble a rather unhairy prop forward in the leg dept.. and wear floor length clothes at ALL times.. (16 inch circ.).. and where do you buy boots from?? I can't wear any I have found so far and am loathe to resort to Evans prices.. plus they were all right frumpy this winter!
I used to wear above knee skirts or really long ones :rotfl: But I've been wearing jeans for the past 7 years so my legs are a disgusting mixed shade of white and ick now and will only come out if disguised by thick black tights! :rotfl: I have a 16.5inch circ and I've just bought 2 pairs of kneehigh boots from ebay - I just look for wide fitting ones.Oh and I agree about the frumpy boots - the flatter pair I've bought are very frumpy, but they'll do under a pair of jeans if I can just find some thicker socks to make them fit better!
Matalan was more or less a waste of time. I found some bits and pieces but nothing really shouted "buy me" except a couple of things in the sale section but as usual everything was either too big or too small, the stuff that was a size 18 was either crop pants or not me. Might get a bus pass and go on an "adventure" tomorrow to the further afield Asda and Matalan. DD is on her trip tomorrow (hopefully) so I have an extra hour or soI did however buy DD 4 vest tops, a packet of trainer socks and 2 belts for £8.30 as they also had a 20% off offer on so I saved £1.20
I did call into home & bargins though and bought a boxfile thing kind of like this but in black with silver trim and more sturdy, I'm going to use it to store all the OU stuff and that which can't be hole punchedIt only cost £2.49
Then I popped into Iceland and bought 2 packets of pancakes for £2.00 as I am hopeless at making themAnd a twin pack of maltloaf
Now its time for me to get sorted with updating finances and stuff like that. Then I'm off to bed.
