i found fresh pasta is good, mainly egg pasta, you seem to get more for your points and its filling.
i get really annoyed at rice and potatoes as well though, there the things that are versatile but not worth the points in a good quantity.
saying that though in one of the cookbook theres a recipe for cowbo pie and its delicious thats just low fat mince, tomatoes beans onions, stock and potatoes sliced on top. well worth trying as its 4 and a half points i think for a querter of it. just part boil the potatoes and fry everything else together the put the mince mix in a dish and place the potatoes on top, spray with light spray then oven cook till golden brown. its gorgeous,
i think i got the points right but if not someone please correct me as someone else has my book.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
thanks jpwhittle...cowboy pie sounds nice (hopefully someone has the recipe)....and def like the idea of egg pasta if anyone has the points values for them

If you like a mince based pie...
Pork Mince 140g 4.5 POINTS
Turkey Mince 140g 3 POINTS
Beef Mince 140g 5 POINTS
The other thing that might be worth trying for the topping of the likes of Shepherd Pie, is mixing part potato and part Sweet potato or carrot. A medium 150g sweet potato is 2 points and sweet potato has a much lower glycaemic index than potato (they should keep you fuller for longer). Sweet potatoes are really easy to cook in the mircowave - just stab skin a couple of times and nuke for a couple of minutes.Debt as of 20th Aug 2009 -£6600 and falling :j0 -
Potato - 1 scoop mashed with margerine - 1 POINT
1 scoop without marg 0.5 POINTSDebt as of 20th Aug 2009 -£6600 and falling :j0 -
o o o o mash is my fave
....no chance of me having just one scoop of that lol an def not without marg!!!.....am gonna try that cowboy pie me thinks....sounds lovely....so thats the next 3 nights tea sorted yay
thanks again for the points stuff merri0 -

ive been there 2 year but i was pregnant nd had my daughter for over 9 months so just gone back.
tips are keep at it even if you have a bad week. also dont feel bad if you have a blow out, its harder when you ompletley cut everything out, if you want chocolate a fudgebar is 2 points or weightwatchers chocolate is 1 and a half so allow it. but i have been craving bakewell tart all week so i had one last night as a treat for doing so well. do i feel bad no, did i put weight on yes, but today ill eat properly again and get on with it but i was starting to feel like id never get anything good so now ive had a treat im happy.
weigh n night is always the best for treat night to though as it gives you ll week to get back on track,
just find low point alternatives, my favourites at the moment are pink and whites, they are half a point each and as they are so big i feel im getting more for my points, 0 point soupsare great, andasda do helthy living banana and amond cakes, they are half a point each and delicious.
stay to meetings if you can to, after all you paid ifyou stay or go!! they are greatfor picking you up and getting ideasback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
