  • Great,

well I suppose i'd better make Wednesday my weigh in day had to use the bathroom scales as couldn't get wii fit to work on tv so they read as 10st1lb ( i will update this later and convert to wii fit weight once i get it working there is usually a slight difference in them!) so ... my goal is to lose 22 lb. I'm hoping to start running training again soon and combining this with the gym and a bit of swimming i'm hoping that the shame of admitting to you all that i've done nothing will frighten me into actually doing it!

Right for once the wii fit measures the same as the other scales so I have set my goal as 22lb although i might review this once i get closer to it as I may have set it a little to low, we'll see.

    Hi
can i join in with this. I started to follow ww but not through their meetings a friend joined and I photocopied the food points booklet. Two years later the weight has slowly crept back on but not all of it. I know half a stone has been put on throughout december. I weighed myself on sunday I am 10st 4lb. I am 5' 4' and quite small framed so I am aiming to lose 18lb which will bring back down 9st. The only thing I need info on is how many points am I allowed have daily and is it right that you can carry points over if you don't use all your daily allowance. I am going to weigh myself on sundays I do go to the gym 3x week and I walk to work daily which is about two miles there and back.

  • Hi Utopia

i've sent you a pm with the questions to work out your points allowance, you can earn extra points by doing exercise although i'm sure it recommends only using a certain number of these for food (i will check and let you know) yes you can carry points over to the next day but it states that you can only carry over 4 points from each day and they have to be used within seven days as you can't carry thm over to the following week. It also recommends not going below 14 in any one day as you just wouldn't be getting enough food

    I hope this helps

    Good Luck!

    hi needtopaymydebts
Thanks for the pm, My points add up to 18 thats what they were last time
If (when) I lose weight ie if I'm 9st 7lb will my points drop to 17 or stay the same? I have been averaging about 17 points a day this week but on the days I've been going to the gym I haven't increased my calorie intake. I always according to the cal counter burn 500 cals at the gym so if you could find out about the exercise points that would be great. I think on the days I go to the gym I might increase my point allowance to 20 until find out more info. I hope everyone is doing well on their first week I can't wait to weigh in on sunday I have been so tempted to jump on the scales but this was my problem last time I kept going on them daily which doesn't work it just makes you feel rubbish as you yoyo daily by 1/2lb either way.
Keep going everyone it would also be great if there were others out there who would like to join in.

Well done for quitting smoking, I too quit 3 years ago and did put some weight on about a stone but you can and I did lose it so keep going giving up is the best thing I have ever done.

  • mmm...just posting quickly but will double check later
once you drop down to 9st something then you will get 17 points instead of the 18 but once you hit your target weight then you get additional points so that you maintain it rather than carry on losing more. I think when i did it last time i used up to 4 of my exercise points on food as i know that is how many you can carry over per day. i don't think i ever found out a definate answer but i'll try and find out for this time. How long do you spend exercising and what do you do at the gym? I'll check on my points calculator for you and try and work out exactly how many points that you're earning!

    hi needtopaymydebts
thanks for giving up your time to find out for me.Don't worry if you can't find out if I stick to 20/22 points on exercise days then i should be ok. I think to maintain your weight its 24 points i'm sure thats how many i used last time. that is the hardest part is maintaining your weight as we all know!!
I spend 1hr 30 mins in gym. 30 mins cross trainer 20 mins treadmill 10 mins rowing and then spend 30 mins on weights using various equipment.
I found it tough going this week as haven't been to the gym for 2 weeks but by the 3rd session was finding it easier. How are you doing and everyone else would love to know as sometimes we just need those few words of support and encouragemnt to keep us going. So come on we can do it!!!! will update my weight loss (if any) tomorrow as it is my weigh in day.

  • Evening everyone

I will get back on board too i think. I started attending meetings at the end of November and lost just under a stone before xmas. I stayed the same over Xmas but had about 8 chocs tonight and pizza so all in all a really rubbish day! I will get my OH to make his spicy carrot soup tomorrow morning and eat healthily from now on.

My biggest problem being that I have 4 big tins of chocolates from xmas, we bought them thinking we would give them out as presents but didnt. Don't want them going OOD but don't want to eat them...... oh dilema!!!

    hi sugar
welcome aboard. well done for maintaining your weight over xmas. How much do you want to lose if you don't mind me asking. I know what you mean regarding the chocolates. I too have various boxes of chocolates that were given to me as presents. The best before dates on mine are up around may/june so I,m hoping to give some away as recycled birthday presents. The kids have a few friends whose birthdays are in march and april. At the moment I have put them upstairs in my wardrobe hoping that out of sight out of mind theory works. ;)

  • Hello Everyone,

Please can i sign up, i would love to go to meetings but cant afford it, i started doing the whole points thing on the 1st, ive done it before i got married and i lost 4 stone.

Now i need to loose about 7 stones i weighed myself at my father in laws and in ten days ive lost 9 lbs:eek:

I think to be honest it has helped not weighing myself all the time. I know using the points programme and with regular exercise it really can work so come on everyone lets do it.

Can we share ideas on what we eat, snack point values and recipes etc?? Every bit of help would be great.

Can I join in please???? I have 2 and a half stones to lose and having messed around since the New Year I finally made the decision today that the only person I'm letting down is myself!!! I so want to lose the weight I have to get into the mindset that losing the weight means more to me than eating sweet things!

I think I am at my heaviest that I've been for about 10 years. I'm lucky to be tall (5ft 9") and all of my friends and family are really shocked when I tell them I am 14stones. I want to be 11st 7lbs, which isn't the lowest on my weight range but is about right for me.

I'm lucky to have a work colleague who is following WW and goes to class so I can take a peek at her books etc but I am happy following the Core Plan, where I can eat veg, fruit and salad in unlimited amounts at 3 meals a day. I don't really eat meat so I'm not worried about that.

I am motivated today to stick to it. I have had porridge for breakfast, made 'no points soup' for lunch and am having a baked potatoe for tea with salad and philly light. Tomorrow I'm going out for Sunday lunch and will be fine if I stick to having no dessert!!

Would really appreciate whatever support I can get which is why I've subscribed to this thread..... just need to think about exercise ... think about it that is!!!
