You certainly can advertise on blogspot, and thus make money. They do have a (not all that well-enforced) any-spam policy - so if they think your blog is too spammy, it's possible they'll axe it.

Do they allow adverts anywhere on the page, or can you only put them in posts.

What I mean is, do you get control over what goes into the pages headers and footers, and what goes either side of the posts?

I know you can put ads in sidebars etc. Not sure about headers and footers.

blogspot appears to one where you can raise money (from what I can see anyway but don't take my word for it as I am getting completely confused by all of this :rotfl:)

I believe there is money to be made in blogging but it's only a very small number that ever make it big. The secret is to have a niche, to post regularly and to work on getting the traffic (particularly in the early days, to get the word out).

I run a blog myself and, while it's by no means up among the big boys, it does at least earn a few £k pa.

At the moment I am finding that I go to research 1 subject and from that subject I land up with 10 new things that I don't understand and therefore, have to research/investigate :rotfl:

I have about 10 different blogs that I am currently considering but only 1 I think could be considered 'niche' - which unfortunately is the one that will take the most work.

I currently am not quite so concerned about making money, I am more centred towards learning about the subject and getting things off my chest. But obviously any money earned would be great.

I have so far got one blog set up, which is nothing new at all. What I am surprised about is that I have had 2 visitors :T. I don't know how, because I can't even find it and I know it exists. So can only assume that it some very kind people from here that found me through my profile

Back to backlinks and SEO :rotfl:

I've had a fair few visitors from http://www.xomba.com

Just do a little blurb thing about one of your posts and leave a link to it.

Please don't post links to your own blog in this thread, it's against the rules.

You can put your blog address in your profile, and most people are savvy enough to look there is they need to visit your blog in order to help you make more money from it.
  • If anybody wants to view my blog, you know where to look =] Leaving a post would be great too :)

If you have a blog also I would gladly like to share blog links with you.
