CarphoneWarehouse has put it up to £269 and out of stock too.
Everywhere else its £249.
Will it come down in price over the next 2 weeks???
I just bought a Tom Tom One for under £220, infact it came out to £217.55. The only place I could find to get it cheap is from The Link website (http://www.thelink.com). When you check out, type in the promotional code "YAW01" and you get an extra 5% off to bring it down under £220. Also, the delivery charge is free. Apparently, the website says this isn't available in the high street shops but I haven't checked this out yet. Hope this helps.0 -

Got my daughter a tomtom one for christmas but she hasnt opened it yet. She has never used her cig lighter so we are a bit worried in case it doesnt work. I brought it from pc world so we know if theres any probs with it, it wont be easy to get a refund or anything so is there an easy way to test the cig lighter before we open the box or anything? She doesnt know anyone who uses thiers for anything to borrow something to test it with so any suggestions on how to do it?
Shes a bit nervous about updating anything she might need to aswell from the tomtom site, I take it its free for a short period is it? is it easy and what will she need to get?
Plus how should she get a back up? and she has no card reader will that matter? and can she save to a cd or hardrive rather than a card till she gets a new spare card. I just dont like the idea that theres no back up if anything happens to the original, Any tips on how to do all that?Thanx

Blimey Lady K, stop panicking woman and calm yourself down :snow_grin
To test the cig lighter in your daughters car, (you may have to have the ignition on when you do this) just press the cig lighter button in and in a few seconds it should pop out and should be red hot, ready to light a cigarette. If it doesn't work post back and i'll try my best to help you out.
Can't help you with the other things i'm afraid.0 -
I managed to get Garmin i3 from Staples yesterday but it was version 7. I went to Halfords today and they price matched it but it was version 8. I will be returning version 7 to Staples later today!
It is tiny but great peice of kit. My only conern is regarding its inability to charge the batteries but cant really complain too much for £129.99

The lighter seems to be working thank goodness
but now we are trying to subscribe on the tomtom site and try and get the free upgrade things.
What we are wondering is, I brought it for her so should it be subscribed in my name or hers? If anything went wrong it came out of my bank account so would the guarantee be in my name?
We dont yave a spare sd card so we cant get a back up yet, I'm rubbish at this stuff so I hope we do it rightThanx

Lady K calm down dear its only a SatNav :rudolf:
As the first part of your panic post has been answered, I will try and calm your nerves over the second part. I bought a TomTom One a couple of months ago. This model comes with 1 months free subscription to TomTom Plus. TomTom plus really just gives you a weather forecast and a traffic update, I don't know how much it costs as I have not bothered subscribing. You need a bluetooth mobile to use this service and I don't have one. Besides, if you want a weather forecast - look out of your window!
Your daughters satnav will work perfectly fine without this added service. Downloads are available from Pocket GPS World and include Points of interests such as speed camera locations, favourite shops and cinemas. As for backing up the satnav, it comes with a USB cable which allows her to backup onto a computer harddrive. This is a very simple process! You do not need a spare SD card. If something does happen to the SD card then go and buy one but otherwise save your money.
Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions or concerns with the TomTom One, I am not an expert but have been playing with mine for 2 months (ooh er missus.....) :snow_laug0 -
